What time is it? It's Party Time!

Smithankyou     1/29/2013 01:46:00 PM     event, Party, sponsored post, Turf Club, watches     No comments
Remember the last time I partied? I suppose it's not the most glamorous thing to do which is why I am not going to party at a club anymore

Where else could I party if not at a club? Technically speaking it is still a club but more awesome, it's at the Singapore Turf Club. Okay, very punny I know but seriously this is one event that I love the most. From the day I first attended as a guest till now when I get to host the event. The venue is awesome, the food is great and the girls are cute! GPGT okay!
Been awhile since I last met the lady boss of Studio Bar! And I finally get to meet effynius!
My favorite Ninja Girls!
That's Felicia an emo blogger, Regina my idol and Eunice the crazy girl. :x
And my favorite 娃娃姐姐 Silver Ang! haha!
And of course the Wifey! One of the few occasions that I actually brought her to event cause she is actually the socially awkward penguin.
She found herself a good friend this event lah! My favorite Malay Friend - Fadsiri!
And of course there are a few that I fail to take picture with!

The super pretty Mel-Is-A-Pro! (Picture from her instagram @Melisapro)
Singapore Blog Award winner 2012 and a good friend - Elrica! Too bad her hubby didn't make it. I really like him! Ok, I'm very happy to meet her friend Jen too!
The pretty Fang Ning!

Pleasant surprise to see Alexischong at the event! And of course, another new friend - Roxanne!
It's a turf club event so I shall still show you some a picture of a horse, at least.
Here is my horse of the day. Mr.Piglet. Not that is not his real name.
So I was telling Silver to bet on this horse but she say that Mr.Piglet is a joke. No dignity at all but guess what? He came in third! After all the phototaking and makan of course we have some fun and games as well as giveaway! I paiseh you know? Hosting the event in front of real celebrity host Silver. But I have to DO IT!
Seriously, where the F*** are my eyes?
And one of my favorite pictures that I kope from effynius:
Mother of all Photo Bomb!
I'm sure with all these pictures I do not need to say too much on how awesome the party went or how much I enjoyed it. But if you have to know more, check out this video by the ninjagirls.sg

It's very seldom of me to talk about the goodie bag or it's content but this time round I actually found something really cool in the goodie bag. A watch! A watch by moment watches.
The really interesting part about this watch is that their designs are actually crowd sourced and you can not get it in any store locally. You can only get it from their webstore here!

A very interesting writeup from their page:

"Experiences are lost forever unless we remember them, capture them, savour them, share them. Moment Watches want to contribute to these experiences and enable you to pass them on. Moment Watches makes a wonderful gift that will mark special moments forever."

I thought it's really meaningful! And check out this piece!

Be attentive!

Sperm and Egg!
I think this is totally quirky and totally me!

So that was my Sunday. If you are a pretty girlfriend or potential friend and wish to join me at the track feel free to drop me an E-mail! See you at the tracks!

Mr.Smith, Sorry for party rocking (without you).

Resort World Genting Mobile App.

Smithankyou     1/27/2013 09:21:00 PM     Bombastique T-Shirt, event, mycake.sg, sponsored post, Trips     No comments
Traveling has never been the happiest thing for me. I really hate to leave my house and travel out. The worry of not bringing enough of something(i.e undies, namecards, money or whatever.), the worry that my hotel booking got screwed up or even getting into a plane crash or whatever sort.
That's pretty much me.
On top of that, traveling was never a practice in the family. Maybe because the dad never ever bring us overseas due to money or maybe he just hates it too. The very 1st place the family went (without the brother - I think he was in the army. The family had never travel out together before.) was Genting Highlands after my PSLE. To be frank, I wasn't all that into it. All the packing and going to somewhere unknown for the 1st time really freaks me out.

Over the years if it ain't because of work or company trip, it's very usual of me to travel and who is the one that suffers? The wife, cause she is one those wanderlust girls.

Despite how I hated traveling, I actually went out for a 2D1N trip with Kevin from CAKE. I was invited to a Resort World Genting event and he was my "official" photographer. How cool?

The trip up to Genting was not at all troublesome this time round cause it was all taken care by the awesome team at RWGenting. I have nothing to worry at all. And these people at Resort World Genting sure knows how to make you feel like a VIP.

This is the cutie @JQLeeJQ who picked us up. koff koff.
And THIS is OPRAH! Not Winfrey but Oprah from Genting.
I guess it's pretty common when people pick their guest up at the airport or bus bay but it's really something special for me! Ok fine, maybe it's just a odd ball. And what is the reason I am there this time round?

We were there to celebrate the awesome milestone of Resort World Genting Mobile App! Within days of launching, they were the No .1 Travel app in Malaysia and Singapore for IOS, and Top 10 Travel App in Malaysia for Android, respectively.  When Windows 8 App was launched in December, RWG was one of its partners. As of today, RWG App has over 100,000 downloads in less than a year. An app for a resort/hotel. How cool is that?
Trying the App on a Window 8 Tablet.
The app is actually really cool and easy to use. It not only shows you what is happening at the resort but you can actually use it to book a room! So for those of you who likes to try your like at RWG because you need to pay $100 just to enter the casino at RWS, download the app today! And during the event, 3 VIP was on stage to explain to us why they actually had this app and more. They were Dato’ Kevin Sim, Executive Vice President of Genting Malaysia Berhad, Thomas Ng, Senior Vice President of E-services and also Chow Wei Heng, Vice President of Marketing.

Happy with their result!
Photos by Kevin from mycake.sg
Being a Singaporean. I am totally unfamiliar with their rankings and all and meeting a Dato sure sounds like a big deal to me. To my surprise Dato Kevin Sim doesn't at all give me a feeling of intimidation. He actually makes me feel kinda comfortable and very personal. He is a really humorous guy too!

Dato Kevin sharing with us his story about his Grand Mother using iPad.
I really very impressed with RWG for being so much more ahead of the rest of the companies in the industry. Not only do they have an app, they also have very active facebook page, twitter and other social media platform such as Weibo and even Ren Ren. Being in the industry for so many years, clients that are more traditional are always very resistant to social media but RWG has shown me otherwise. They have been around for so many years but yet they are ready to make changes to the business and dare to take the step ahead and make a difference. Maybe that is also why they are around and will be around for many more decades and even centuries. (A matter of survival, the earth or them. :x)

‘Unlike yesteryears, reaching out to customers has changed tremendously.  Our top booking avenue is the online booking via the website and it is also where we see ourselves highest in exposure in-terms of promoting our products.  Customers talk to us via our Facebook site, Twitter and blogs and share with us their opinion about us.  We also have online travel agents as our business partners and group buying sites such as MyDeal and Groupon.  However, with the current new trend, App, it gives us another platform to promote our products.’ - Chow Wei Heng, Vice President of Marketing

I am truly impressed by how much they understand the business of social media and the need of being ahead. I've seen too many businesses resisting to be part of the 'Social World".

And with this app, booking of rooms just gets easier! Every hotel, restaurant should have such an app!

Not only did they "bus" (since i can't say they flew us up.) up all the way to KL and Genting, they also buy us awesome dinner at RWGenting's Coffee Terrace!

The very first thing Kevin and I attacked was the fresh oysters and salmon sashimi! And Oprah went " you Singaporeans really like these hor?" Damn! Are we that typical? I guess that is a yes! :x

No, we did not break any walls of the hotel room that night.
Ok, I did have some greens too.
SASHIMIIII~~~~
And of course the night doesn't end here for us. Boys being boys, we spent the night at the sports bar drinking some beer and caught some repeat telecast soccer games. And what else did we do? We kinda explored the place... although we can't see much, like literally.

It's totally NOT 26 degree. It was more like 10-12 degree according to the hotel wall thermometer.
And this is me at Silent Hill. No, should be "diam diam" hill since it's in MY. :p
The trip was really eventful I must say. Not only did I had a great time with my bro, had some great food but I was impressed by the company's social media effort. It was an eye opener for sure. Thanks a lot to the Resort World Genting team for the invite and the hospitality!

P.S: If you like the T-shirt I wore during the event, it's actually from my sponsor www.bombastique.com.sg

Keep Clam okay?
Mr.Smith, now go download the app and try!

Touching Video.

Smithankyou     1/24/2013 10:18:00 AM     diary, malaysia, social media, Video     No comments
Coming from me, you guys might probably think that it's a video of someone touching another person or that sort but sorry to disappoint you guys it's not.

It's actually a touching Chinese New Year video. The importance of family. No matter what happened, family will always be family. Nothing will change.

A friend sent it to me via E-mail and the title was Gong Xi Fa Cai and I click it on the bus thinking it should be a funny video or what not but I started crying on the bus. I love this video and I think having such videos online sharing about such values is one of the great social media can do to remind youngsters the importance of family or other value.

It's very subtle, no propaganda dialogues but just love. Feel it.

Watch it... Prepare some tissue too.

Mr.Smith, I really crying too much these days.

Local Photographer had sex with 15 y.o girl?

Smithankyou     1/23/2013 06:09:00 PM     current affairs, singapore, social media, work     No comments
Photographer - also commonly known as the camera man. I have multiple friends in the industry and all I can say about this industry is that it's messed up. The easy access of DSLR cameras did not help the industry at all. I've worked with photographer that earn thousands of dollar for just a single shoot and I've seen client going to so call photographer that shoot for $50 for a 3 hour event. No, I am not saying that client should not encourage new blood but my point here is that the entry into this industry is just way too easy.
I'm a photographer too. Some how.
So the person standing behind the camera is known as the photographer and that makes the one standing in front of the camera the model right? So basically it really sounds good to any girl or actually anyone who wants the little fame or money to take the job up no? It's a simple task, just simple and be pretty right? With that many photographer, I am sure it's not easy to make a person a model?
No need study lor, everyone can be model.
What I am trying to say here is that the industry entry is too easy, and that gives everyone the equal chance to be in the industry including some bad horses. There is this certain forum that likes to do Take For CD or more commonly known as TFCD (I guess it's more TFDVD these days though.) which simply means a few guys cummingcoming together, pay a few underage girls models to wear skimpy clothing and take some picture. It's not for client, it's for nothing. Some of these people do it as a hobby and some just want to take the chance to meet these girls. Frankly if it's a hobby you can shoot anyone and anything like some of my friends. You do not need to only shoot young girls.

Of course, shooting them and letting them go home in a piece ain't the worst after reading this new scandal. And where else other than our local favorite forum - EDMW.

In summary, there are rumours about this photographer going around asking girls to shoot and even till the extend of asking them to do indecent act. I am not involved in this incident in anyway and don't quote me cause I am only reading information off EDMW as well.

Pictures from EDMW.
Seriously, this is not uncommon if you asked me. It's pretty common on how guys use such tricks to get close to girls. It works the same way for many industry. Especially with facebook, guys can easily click on any girls and send them a message and up sell themselves. How do I know? Because I do that too but I am not the cool photographer. I've been in the events/talent management/community management business for long enough to be thick skin enough to approach anyone remotely marketable. From show talent, show girl, models, bloggers, regardless of age, shape, size or gender and from experience, with working opportunity - people reply you.

It is not against the law for these people to be lurking around the corner and put you into trouble(unless the trouble part happened.) thus it is always important to protect yourself especially for the ladies. I've heard stories about girls meeting new event manager, going into industry and worked but not getting paid. Not getting pay is a small issue, it's always better than those who got rape or molested.

In this case, it seems like to me the girl agreed to have sex cause she was too turned on, so frankly I've no clue why she is sharing this and "flaming" this guy. Maybe for the 15 yr old, yes, it's bad thing that he suggested that to a 15 yr old but I am glad the 15 yr old is smart enough to say no. Well I guess such black horse in the industry should be name and shame.

I guest the carrot on the other end of money and fame gets victim aboard easily, here are a few things you could do to avoid putting yourself into any unwanted trouble.

Tips on being a model/talent in Singapore.

1. Always google or "CSI" this person on different social network or any friends in the industry to find out more about this person.

2. If it is a photoshoot, always get someone to go with you. Even if it is a girl at least you have someone.

3. Always have black and white paper work, be it real contract, e-mail or even SMS. Truth be told that a lot of such ad-hoc jobs are actually not covered by MOM so never ever threaten an event manager that you will complain to MOM cause that only shows that you know nothing but at least keep all these Black and white to put it onto sites or even Stomp him.

4. With regards to money, always ask for deposit or maybe 50% before job if you do not know that certain person. Losing half is always better than losing all.

5. Never sign any contract blindly, yes I know I mentioned black and white and I know you are no lawyer but at least read it up a little or get a 2nd opinion.  In case where you are meeting for the 1st time and that person insist in you signing something, tell him or her you need to check with someone else, I.E: Father, Mother, your current manager or anyone.

6. If it is a photoshot or video, always ask for proper release form just in case. We have no idea where that person is going to send the photos or videos to, always be safe than be sorry.

7. Nude photo shoot - better be careful with the photographer's credential, always bring a close friend and ask for all the images. Even if it is implied nude, make sure there are no other cameras around or even at the changing room. You don't want to get famous this way. I hope.

I am no pro but the above is my 2cent worth. :)

Mr.Smith, hi intro please? Sleep with me and I make you famous okay? (like Tammy NYP.)

Life as a (middle class male) Singaporean.

Smithankyou     1/23/2013 11:26:00 AM     current affairs, diary, rant, singapore     No comments
Just a little disclaimer before I carry on with this blogspot. This blogspot is simply inspired by my current new life. The fact that I just got married. I just shifted out from my parents and the fact that I still can't fucking pass my IPPT. This post is NOT to compare with anyone. I am NOT saying that being a upper class or being a female is any easier. I am talking about this from a very personal point of view. I know it's obvious cause it's my blog but I know there are still mofo out there who will say that I'm a spoil brat or a little whiny boy but the purpose of this blog is is purely for me to discover and also to pen down my current situation. I am really trying to adapt to this life but it is not easy and there is no cheat code on cheatcc.com nor gamefaq.com.

I WANNA BREAK FREE~~
Work

Surprisingly work is the easiest out of every thing I have for me on the table now. I go to work as an office worker like anyone else and I know off like everyone else. But here comes the issue.

IPPT

I can't pass my IPPT ever since I ORD. Shortly after I ORD-ed, I injured my shoulder and I was unable to do any physical exercise for close to 8 months and anything after that was a downhill. "Thanks" to our army system, we are given an opportunity of failing. We "simply" have to attend either 10 IPT lessons everyday after work or 20 lessons of RT. It's that simple. BUT, session starts at 7pm and you have to fucking reach at 6.45pm which means you fucking have to leave office earlier than anyone else. Will this affect my performance in the office? Will this make my boss unhappy? YES.

Going for training twice or thrice a week, will that take up time after work? YES. Does that means you have less time for your family and wife? YES. Do we still have time to make babies or even spend time with your kids for those who have kids? NO. And this is not all, what's next?

ICT

So each year you have to go back to camp for In Camp Training or better known as Reservist. This will take you out from work from 7 days to even 21 days or more. Must your company allow you to go? Yes. Are they happy? No. What does gahment do in return? Pay the company back for my pay but can the company get a person who already know my job and replace me only for that 7 - 21 days? NO. Do I have time for my family or baby making again? NO.

Parents and In-laws.

The parents loves you. The in-laws love you(or their daughter). They miss us. They wish to spend time with us for dinner or lunch or just a get together session at least once a week and we have to do it cause we don't stay together under the same roof.

Area Cleaning.

So without the parents at home and since there is just the two of us, it doesn't make sense both money wise and logic wise for us to have a maid. That means we have to clean the place ourselves, iron our clothes and to eat healthy we are encouraged to eat home cook food. So with 2 days going back to the in-laws and maybe 3 days going back camp what other time do we have?

I really respect how people do all these and have kids and still help out at grassroot or some other 3rd party organization. And I am talking about me returning back to a life of a normal office worker. What about people who runs your own company like I use to do? We have to meet client or socialize even after office hours. We have to run the company but yet still go back for IPT, IPPT, ICT? Are we sure we can encourage entrepreneurship in such situation? The worry of not having CPF to pay for the house. The fear of not having stable income. We should be fighting for career before settling down but yet on the other hand we need to GRAB our HDB any chance available for middle income people like us. We can't take the risk. And we already spent 2 yrs in army and that makes us way slower than the ladies who started their career before us. And the ladies will mind if we earn less than them?

Wife

I am lucky I got my gf back in school. Else, would we have time to date someone with all these in mind and on the plate? And even with a wife, that doesn't means it's the end of relationship. We still need to keep the relationship fresh and exciting but does our schedule allows? After spending time with parents, in camp, at work, socializing and all. Do we have time for alone time? Baby making time? What about exercise time? Hobby time? Me time?

I love Army.

Don't get me wrong. Do not read this post as if I am complaining about army. TO be frank, I love the Army. I enjoyed myself during the 2yrs of service. I made friends, I made brothers. I learn a lot of things and experience a lot of things that I am sure that only army could have given that to me. But it seems to me that a lot of these policies + parents + work is really making me left with little or no time for myself. Is it because I have very bad time management? Is it because I have too much on my plate?

How do you guys make it happen? I have no clue like totally. Can someone teach me how to be a good citizen, soldier, worker, husband, lover, father, son, son-in-law and an international porn staridol? Can one really excel in all?

Mr.Smith, life is a journey, we seek and we learn but the ironic part is that when you really know the answer, your life is over.

Hate T-shirt Clash during Chinese New Year?

Smithankyou     1/20/2013 09:53:00 PM     advertorial, Bombastique T-Shirt     No comments
I am not sure how many of you are particular about what you wear during the Chinese New Year house visits. I mean there are people who are like me who don't really give a damn about the need of having new shirt. The process of Chinese New Year clothes hunting really sucks. Too many people and too little unique looking T-shirts. I still prefer to shop as and when I am doing my usual shopping.

Buying unique T-shirts in Singapore ain't exactly the easiest thing to do considering the fact that most of our boutique in Singapore are like chain stores. Things got a little easier few years ago when I found treadless but these days they are just way way way too common. I'm totally not a shirt guy especially during the hot and humid Chinese New Year period. T-shirt FTW.

And lucky for me and you guys, I found http://www.bombastique.com.sg/

Check out their interesting T-shirts and of course their awesome choice of T-shirt models.

Red T-shirt is always good for Chinese New Year!
Be unique and look different for this Chinese New Year. Buy some interesting T-shirts from this local online store! Support Local work yo!!

Mr.Smith, tell the owner you are Smith's friend for special discount okay? Maybe 10% mark up. HAHA.

Where did you go?

Smithankyou     1/15/2013 02:01:00 PM     diary, will, will leong     No comments
Last night was a very emotional night for me. It was silly actually, cause it all started with me pressing my own shirt.
The truth is, "I am Iron Man."
It was actually my very first time taking the iron out from the box to do my ironing ever since I moved into Punggol. I'm bad at ironing, I can do everything at home but just not ironing. (that has nothing to do with this post actually.) While I was on it, it reminded me an incident many years ago, one of those night before CNY where I attempted to do ironing for myself while watching TV with the baby sister standing beside me. We have always been best of friends and she likes to hangout around me and watch me do stuff but it was one of those night that shit just has to happen. I actually hit her at the nose bridge with the tip of a hot iron and cause her skin to be cook and peer off almost immediately. It was just a few mm away from her eye ball. She could have became 1 eye Jack.

It reminded me so much more. It reminded me of the times all 5 of us spent under one roof laughing and playing. We might not have a lot on our plate but we were happy. We watch TV, we sang, we played. We cried, we fought, we screamed but ultimately it was all good time spent together. A time where can never go back anymore. Growing up forced us to move on. She is now staying at the hall most of the time due to work while I'm married and shifted out living the parents at our place. Death forced us to move on, lord took you away, away from us, away from home.

We will NEVER be able to laugh as a family, to sit around the dining table or mahjong table. We will never be able to joke or sing in harmony although we could hardly get the pitch right as a family. Nothing. All these thoughts killed me. It's really silly cause it started from nothing but pressing one fucking piece of clothes. I cried, I weep, I stoned.

There is nothing I can do or could have done to stop myself.

Then I remembered this song. Where did you go.

Thank you for taking these words out of my mouth, putting it together and singing it better than i ever could have. This song is by a local indie singer who is also a good friend - Shimona Kee. Originally for her brother Reuben who passed on during an accident. And now I am singing it in my head for you. Will.

https://soundcloud.com/shimona/where-did-you-go

"Where did you go
when I turned around
you were there just a while ago

You walked along this life so strong
how could you suddenly be gone

And I am waiting for the moment
you return
I am waiting for the door to open
I am waiting to hear your voice
But where did you go, you're not here.

Where did you go
in the blink of an eye
you were gone and I did not know

I cannot see how you disappeared
from my life in a wisp of wind

Maybe someday I will understand
Maybe someday I will see
Why the Lord had to take you from me
but for now, you are gone, you're not here."

I thought the lyrics are beautiful. So so beautiful and at the same time so painful. \

How many more moons must this pain go on for?

Ragnarok Online 2 GIVEAWAY!

Smithankyou     1/15/2013 10:03:00 AM     Game Reviews, giveaway, sponsored post     7 comments
I still remember the good old school days where I spent so much time online with my buddy Keong and my then gf now wife on Ragnarok Online 1. We have played a lot of online games but RO1 was one that sticks and we spent the most time on. The whole party play really got us bonded. In fact I believe that was the game that I got my little sister started as a gamer!

And now guess what? The hottest blockbuster online game Ragnarok Online 2 is now available to play at http://www.PlayRO2.com/!

It's back and it's better!

Game Story:
Goddess of Destruction, Freyja and her 12 Valkyries started the ‘Day of Despair’ cataclysm. God Odin’s son Baldur, reincarnated as Chaos, bravely fought alongside his friends to protect the Midgard from Goddess Freyja. He finally succeeded in imprisoning her in the netherworld called ‘Vanaheim’.
After centuries of peace, a religious fanatic group following Goddess Freyja emerged all over the Rune-Midgards Kingdom and brought peril. By the orders of King Reinhard, the Prontera Knights lashed out against the Freyjanity and rescued kidnapped children from the fanatics.
These children were implanted with powerful fragments known as the Heart of Ymir during captivity.
Will these children bring peace and order to the Midgard continent? Or perhaps there’s a sinister plot that has yet to be uncovered?

One major difference between the RO1 and RO2 would be the graphics, good bye to cutesy graphics and welcome major 3D revamp (Shown in video). Actually that's what that I missed the most. Don't you think the RO1 graphics is really too cute and that's really makes a major difference between other games?
I lost all my own screen cap and this is from http://rostory.org/lishall/
One of my favorite element has to be pet catching and this is my favorite cause it's the strongest! Baphomet Jr!

One thing that didn't change much in the RO2 has to be the card system!
When i say it didn't change I mean it is still there but it is improved and better! Still remember the days that we spent hours and hours in a team trying to hunt for the Vitata card for my mage so I could heal myself as well.

I haven't been able to spent enough time gaming but I am sure this is worth playing and I can't wait to spend more time on the game!

Not only am I sharing this awesome game, but I have somethings to giveaway to fella RO2 fans too! The giveaway includes the following prizes!

1 x Poring Cushion Plushie
1 x Poring plushie keychain
1 x poring Dust cap
1 x RO2 iPhone buttons.
1 x Calendar Poster.
Poring is sooo cute!
All you have to do is answer the simple question below via either commenting on this blog or e-mail your answer to Smithleong@gmail.com!

Question: Name me one of the 5 main job (1st class) available in RO2 ! (Yes, the answer is not from this post! You would know if you are playing this or a real fan no?)

In your comment and/or E-mail, please include your name, contact number and E-mail address so I could get back to you! This giveaway starts right away and ends at 31st Jan 2013 2359hrs. (*P.S: Giveaway is only available to address within Singapore.)

EDIT: Sorry I miss out this important part, there will only be 1 lucky winner, getting the answer correct gets you into the lucky draw. Good Luck! *_^

Should You Save Your Friend?

Smithankyou     1/11/2013 03:29:00 PM     diary, Friends, Thoughts     No comments
Everybody have friends, everybody have different types of friends and I am sure everybody hope to have at least one friendship that makes you feel like you are in an exclusive "team".
From hanging out at the bar together everyday after work or hanging out together watching Starwars,
to hanging out at the coffee place everyday or hanging out watching die hard together,
or even hanging out at their place eating takeout everyday or hanging out watching StarTrek together.

But how difficult is it to maintain a strong bond like these? (Especially when you have someone like Sheldon in the group.)

This post will probably become a book or maybe even a wiki if I want to go on talking about how to make friends and blah blah blah which is why I've decided to talk about just 1 thing:
Something the HIMYM folks like to do.
How many of you guys can actually take an open intervention from your friends positively?

 The question is simple:

There are things that you don't agree that your friend(s) should be doing but it makes him/her happy. What's your call?

Some replies from twitter and facebook:

I mean like how I always explains such issues with most people is that this is what your conscious mind is saying to you now, of course things will change a little depending on the situation, who is it and maybe even how it happened.

I guess the bottom line for me is "it's his life he should know what to do and he should bear the consequences anyway." but as a friend when you care and love your friend, do you think it is possible for you to just stay and cross your arms and watch your friend fall in a slump(or just any other situation which you think it is bad.)? So what I would normally do is just maybe give an advise (IF I'm asked to) and say "just my 2 cent worth and the ball is in your court and I am happy for you no matter what your decision is." So friends, if you see me saying this line, it probably means "I really don't agree with you... but I love you.. so whatever."

Is this not an uncommon scenario in all your friendships where you are trying to give some advise and it ended up instead of solving problem it created more trouble.

So what makes one a good friend? Should you always be there to "save" your friend regardless of the situation?

Taking this straight out from a friend's blog.

"The truth is that letting your friend engage in what you perceive to be ‘suicide’ does not mean that you are walking away from your friend’s life, no, it just means that you have chose to stay in this friendship, consistently watching as a bystander. Sometimes that is even harder than just fighting and completely walking away from your friends."

"I guess the bottom line is knowing that what is important in a friendship is not so much dissuading your friends from making decisions that you believe is bad for them, rather it is about standing at the bottom of the cliff to catch them when it is all done and they need to find a new direction."

I think Carrie just took the words out of my mouth and phrase it even more beautifully than I ever could have done.

I don't even know why I am writing this when I could have just paste that link to you.

Mr.Smith, I don't judge you, I won't stop you but I will catch you if you fall.

New Sample Box in Town!

Remember the good old days tikam bag where you pay a good dollar or two for this random black plastic bag of toys or food?
A very old picture “kope” from Alvin’s blog.
I will always go all out to shake and weight just hope to get the best pack out of the lot. The excitement of getting something good at a low price and the feeling of surprise never fails to keep me going back for more. Sad to say this kind of product is no longer available in the market. But my worries were soon over as I found another replacement: Kinder Surprise!

Chocolate, toy and a surprise!
but sometimes I do get a lil disappointed w the toys that are repeated or not the one I want. Can't surprises just only be good all the time? With this out of the picture as well, it’s almost close to impossible for me to get something random, a surprise and at the same time, not a disappointment!

Lucky for me and you(if you are into the previous 2 products), I’ve found this new product not just a replacement but a better one – The Black Box!
