But you didn't have to cut me off...

Smithankyou     5/26/2012 09:31:00 AM     9gag, somebody that i used to know     2 comments
So recently I was introduced to this awesome song that came with a weird MTV.

Somebody that I used to know.

So i thought the song was pretty good and all but the MTV and the guy's face was really hilarious.

And what is even more hilarious is once again our 9gaggers.

I remember there were a few more but I don't seem to be able to find it. I guess that is the only problem with 9gag which is the way of keeping track of old post.

Anyway, Enjoy!

Mr.Smith, you didn't have to cut me off...

I was insulted in the Cinema - Ayam Brand Club Sardine.

Smithankyou     5/25/2012 02:51:00 PM     advertisement, diary, Humour     2 comments
So I was watching Men In Black 3 yesterday, (By the way it's a very awesome movie, which for the obvious reason not the main concern in this post.) and before the show started they played many advertisements and one of them is by Ayam Brand.  (Dear Ayam Brand, you can thank me later for the views.)

So what is wrong with this advertisement? I can feel that they wish to target younger crowd and make the product look hip BUT two girls taking out a can of SARDINE at a club? Is it because it's "CLUB" SARDINE so you need to eat it in a club? WHO THE FUCK EATS SARDINE WHILE CLUBBING??

So me being me burst out laughing out loud at the scene where the girls took out the sardine can and that's where the horror happened. *JENG JENG JENG*

After my loud laughter I overheard a dude's voice telling the girlfriend and explaining the advertisement and the conversation go something like this:

Douchebagude: "You know why they made this advertisement?"
Girl: "Don't know wor."

D: "Ayam brand wanna rebrand their image to a younger image so they did some research that this is what attracts the younger crowd. This kind of thing only people who studied marketing will understand, people who don't do marketing will just think that it is a joke."

Look! It's Singapore very own Superhero!

See, on top of being "Captain Obvious", what this guy did was totally not tasteful. He said it out loud to put me down trying to impress his girl. Seriously? You mean your "some research" didn't tell you that the person in front of you can totally hear what you say as well as the chance of the person is really laughing at it cause he is in the industry and still find that the advertisement SUCKS?!

I wanted to turn around and talk to him but I decided not to spoilt my night for some douchebag and I just kept quiet but I did turn around and stare at him when the show ended. He looks something like this:

So seriously, I think people should really think about what they say in the public especially when they erm... are not very smart themselves.

Anyway, I hope you guys enjoyed the advertisement and feel free to leave me your comment if you think that the advertisement is a really good one. I welcome comments and I take them seriously.

Mr.Smith, I really feel like eating some sardine now.

Please support me for "Hair for Hope 2012"

Smithankyou     5/23/2012 11:09:00 AM     event, hair for hope, shave     4 comments
Dear Readers,

have you heard about the event "Hair for Hope"?

(History) From their website:

The idea for Hair for Hope came about from a group of volunteers of Children’s Cancer Foundation (CCF).

Understanding the ordeals that children with cancer are subjected to, 9 volunteers decided to shave their heads as a symbolic gesture to help create awareness for children with cancer, in conjunction with the annual CCF fundraising event, Tulips Hearts Day.

With the kind support of Lush Hair Creation’s hair stylists, CCF volunteers had their crown shaven and polished to shine, attracting $2,000 in donation towards Children’s Cancer Foundation.

This year is their 10th installment and I am going to do my part for Children's Cancer Foundation too!

For those of you who did spend some time talking to me before would know why I am pro Cancer fighting campaigns and in fact i do donate a small sum of money money to Singapore Cancer Foundation as well. (Although I find that they are getting a little too commercialise these days.)

Anyway it's also because I hope I will look like this after I shave:

Maybe not? Or maybe I will look like the observer from Fringe?

Wait, to look like him I need to shave my eye brows too right?

Anyway, so can I have you guys to show a little support? $1? $2? This is the time I am really calling for a #IDonate$2 liao.  MAKE DONATION!

Thank you very much guys! XOXO

Mr.Smith, will I look like Kobe Bryant when I am done?

Lakers - Gone Fishing

Smithankyou     5/23/2012 09:11:00 AM     Lakers, NBASmith, Spurs     1 comment

What more do I need to say? After a 5 game series against the younger, hungrier, faster Thunder, the Lakers end their season at the Conference Semi-Finals once again.

They were swept by the Dallas Mavericks last season where they went on and won the championship. So will the "good luck" follows Thunder? Does that means it will be the year of the Thunder?

Kobe in 2011
Will the Thunder win? The answer is...

They will be facing off with the perfect playoff records San Antonio Spurs. They might be older, they might be a little slower but they are wiser and more experienced. Their coach is one of the best in the league. Do not get me wrong, I am not a Spurs fan in fact I hated them. So what makes me think they will win?

Remember who won the NBA 1998-1999 season when it was a shorten season due to the lockout as well?

We all remember what the "Zen Master" said right?

Phil Jackson Says the '99 Asterisk Stays

By Adria Bradshaw- SpursReport
Tuesday, May 11, 2004

No Respect For '99 Title From Phil Jackson.

Just when you thought you'd heard the last of "the asterisk..."

In Phil Jackson's mind, it's still there and it's never going away.

San Antonio's 1999 NBA championship, won during the lockout-shortened season, was one of the rallying points for the Lakers during the 2000 playoffs.

But at the Lakers' practice, Jackson said he doesn't figure on that '99 trophy being any part of a dynasty if the Spurs make a run in the coming years.

"I know it's added onto their list, but anybody who was around basketball in '99 knows it was entirely an aberration," Jackson said. "Not that they don't deserve it. They won the pack and they came out of that heap, but that's an asterisk. That's kind of a weird situation that sits over there.

"They proved it with Duncan and Robinson last year; they came out with a great championship last year and they made a great rally at the end of the year after the All-Star break. This year, they've done the same thing.

"They've repeated it with a different group of guys and that's really a credit to Popovich and his ability to coach this basketball club, this very different group. Most of them are overseas players ... that have joined together to play very good basketball."

So I believe that this yr will be another year for the Spurs... base on.... Tabloid! ZEN HAHA.

Mr.Smith, who cares who wins now. I am a "ABH" (Anything But Heat).

I ish blog awards finalist wor!

Smithankyou     5/22/2012 10:34:00 AM     interview, omy, singapore blog awards, social media     2 comments

So after having this silly little blog like for more than 5 yrs and writing all these silly no head no tail posts, I was nominated in the OMY Blog Awards 2012. I humbly accepted the nomination cause I thought it's kinda funny that I actually have you guys to nominate me.

And guess what? I didn't disappoint you guys at all cause I actually managed to get my big fat ass into the top 10 finalist of the SOLD.SG Best What-The-Hell Blog category of Singapore Blog Awards 2012!

I didn't realize I got myself into the top 10 finalist until people twitted me about it. I am pretty sure they got an E-mail and I realize my E-mail is actually in the spam folder. :p

So it's not all just fun and joy being nominated cause I have to reply some interview questions. (Machiam famous already right? Still must answer questions.)

So below is a simple Interview from the omy team:

OMY:   How do you feel about being one of finalists in Singapore Blog Awards 2012?
Smith:   I feel very WTH... Like literally.

OMY:.    When did you start blogging and what drew you to it? Where do you get inspiration for your blog content?
Smith:  5years ago. I started blogging because I wanted to write a diary and I couldn't find a notebook that day. Actually no, if you start to read my older blog posts, I started because I wanted to have a record of my silly adventures as well as to practice writing. My English really sucks. My inspiration? Every where, every silly thing that happened in my life, things that I see, I hear and I think. I just write what I like even if nobody reads it. And recently like many others - 9gag!

OMY: How do you feel about the other Finalists in your category this year? How do you think you will fare compared to them?
Smith: I actually am a reader of a few of the other blogs and am friends with some of the bloggers as well. I just want to say I think Chrispytine is HOT! I will beat them hands down if I was nominated in the "Most Lazy Blogger" category. This? I doubt. HAHA.

OMY:   Give a reason why readers should visit your blog and vote for you?
Smith: Actually you shouldn't vote for me but if you really wish to and needed a reason.....

Because even MP thinks I am awesome! (And in case you don't wanna vote for me, that's a picture of a cat on my t-shirt and it's a design I did for cat welfare society.)

So I suppose there will be more interesting publicity posts that I will be doing for this award so keep a look out on this space!

Mr.Smith, What The Hell? I think I better get back to hell. (If you get what I mean. #Diablo3)

Busy too busy..

Smithankyou     5/12/2012 04:45:00 PM     foodRevolutionDay, NBASmith     2 comments
So it has been a busy month for me. On top of work, it's mostly still work.

I haven't been attending much bloggers event or any other social stuff too. Although busy, I've still made time for myself to do things that I like. What that has been making me really excited is actually The Food Revolution Day.

People ask me question like why am I even doing this and all and my answer is simple, it's fun. I get to meet people and I get to learn new things too. I am overweight and I am definitely not the best person to talk about healthy eating but it is through doing this event that I've learnt the importance and the fact about healthy eating too.

Doing events is my bread and butter but doing the food revolution day is totally different. When it comes to my work, it's always about budget, KPI, ROI and managing the client's expectation. When was the last time I did something I really like and enjoy?

On top of that, i get to meet a lot of people who are very passionate about food and helping the community. Food Bloggers, Sponsors, journalist, marketeers and many more. I just feel so love and touched when I see people doing things for good will and not all commercial.

Food revolution day gives me that sense of excitement i can't get from work these days. It's just like one is my wife and the other is the mistress. HAHA.

Anyway I hope to see you guys on the event itself and support me and the team who has put in all the effort!

Story so far on NBA:

We enter the playoffs, Bulls got knock out by 8th seed 76ers - Derrick Rose got injured and so out the bulls went.

No surprise for Spurs sweeping the Jazz, Defending Champion Mavs didn't last a game longer in the face off against contender Thunder.

Overhyped Knicks didn't have J Lin back in time and got knock out by Heat.

Lakers and Memphis to face off in deciding home game against Nuggets and Clippers respectively. Hope World Peace can help the Lakers proceed to round 2!

Two of the most boring match up just went to Magic Vs Pacer and Celtics Vs Hawks. It really doesn't matter that much who win.

Mr.Smith, Healthy eating is important and so is active lifestyle. Get off the seat and shoot some hoops!

Who Can You Sleep With?

Smithankyou     4/20/2012 09:34:00 AM     bed, comedy, event, ikea, sponsored post     1 comment
To most people a bedroom is where we spent most of our time at home these days. Almost everyone of us will have the luxury of having our TV or computer in our bedroom. It's a very personal space and I would say is the place where one is most comfortable at home.

That being said, the task of feeling comfortable in such a small area is getting tougher as time goes by and our HDB ain't helping. My previous room which was built in the 80s is almost twice the size of what I am staying in now which was built in late 90s and my new place which is suppose to be ready by end of the year is even smaller. There is no solution to the room size but there is always solution to space management and the answer is at IKEA!

I really like how they manages the limited space we have! On top of always looking for a new way to manage our space, IKEA is also always looking for a new way to surprise and engage their customers!

Instead of the typical "sexy time" in the bedroom we are talking about "Funny Time"! A bedroom comedy!

The comedy is by our very own local DJ/Comedian Denise Tan. The comedy talks about a woman's life and how IKEA plays a big part of it from teenage life to young woman and to starting a family. The light hearted comedy happens at a room display setup where it's very up close and personal. I personally find it very refreshing and it will definitely catch IKEA's shopper attention and give everyone a pleasant surprise and brings laughter to everyone's shopping experience.

Close encounter eh?
The live comedy is one of the two main focuses of the campaign, which runs from 4 April to 13 May. It will be played at Ikea Alexandra on 21 and 28 April at 2pm, as well as at Ikea Tampines on 22 and 29 April at 3pm. The final performance will be on 1 May at 6pm at Alexandra and 4pm at Tampines. So do drop by if you want a good laugh!

And the second part of the campaign? "Who Can You Sleep With?" The campaign focus is on a small online quiz to find out more about your sleeping habits and your favorite "position". Seriously? I think this is one of those campaigns that is so cheeky that it just sound too wrong for a person like to me explain it. Seriously just go try it! You can actually win gifts from IKEA too!

I REALLY LIKE THIS COPY WRITING!! "100 days to sleep around?" Genius!

Go check it out now!

Mr.Smith, Email me if you are interested to sleep with me okay? All FEMALE applicants are welcome.

Walk in Comfort, Wear in Style - Just another Crocs post.

Smithankyou     4/19/2012 09:57:00 AM     9gag, crocs, event, fashion     1 comment
We know how people always like to describe people who are vain are “要美不要命” which simply means people are willing to sacrifice their lives(comfort) for style. I am not arguing this point as I believe it is true till a certain extend especially to my hot blogger and female friends where image is very important. Allow me to ask you a question, why stop at 1 when you can have both? YES! That's exactly what I'm talking about - Walk in Comfort. Wear in Style.

Crocs bring comfort and style to a whole new level. For ignorant people who like to tweet without thinking and leave comment such as the one below, I suggest you walk into a Crocs store real soon.

Probably not something I should be talking about on my blogpost but probably not the best thing for him to tweet as well no? Instead of going into a never ending argument, I will convince you with some pictures from a latest fashion show by crocs.

from @NgJuAnn 's instatgram
Look! two awesome looking Crocs fans and you sure they can't get laid?  :x

The show stealer model from Thailand! He shows star quality and was the model of the day. All the 50 invited bloggers was so so attracted by his style!

On top of just drooling off the models, may I have your attention on the 6 pairs of shoes displayed in the picture above? Yes, those are crocs! Fashionable and Lifestyle! It's no longer just boat shoes or beach wear! It's stylish and full of swag!

No.8

Sneaker looking Crocs Mesh! This pair of sneaker is mostly done up by the special Crocs Lite material. The material that is light weight and water proof! Of course there are still canvas material to joint the shoes together.

And why is the picture above captioned as no.8? Cause this is my 8th pair of Crocs?

No.1 - 7
FYI : Not all are sponsored shoes. I did pay for more than half of them here.

Sexi Sandals!

I totally dig this pair of female sandals from the design to the name. SEXI! HAHA. I seriously wonder how did they do all this naming. Will they ever name a pair of shoes "Smith" since I am such a loyal fan? *Think too much*

What else can I say? I am Crocs fan and I have always like wearing Crocs as it is one of the very few brands that allows me to walk in comfort and at the same time in style. In fact if they have formal Black leather shoes, basketball shoes and running shoes, I would totally not need any other brand! *hint hint*

P.S : This is THE real protector of virginity foot wear :

Protection from Girls level over 9000.

Mr.Smith,  Walk in Comfort. Wear In Style. It's Over 9000
