Diablo 3 - Reaper's Wraps

Smithankyou     4/10/2014 01:08:00 PM     diablo3, gaming, reaper of souls, Reaper's Wraps     2 comments
Thanks to the new patch on 8th April, Reaper's fear is dropping pretty normally after you kill Mathael. So with that, I finally managed to craft the Reaper's Wraps.

Before that I was equipped with this.

#NoobQuestion : so our DPS doesn't reflects things like Poison Damage or even the 15% Physical Damage. So if Damage is all I care... which is better really?

Diablo 3 Rant.

 Smithankyou     4/08/2014 10:36:00 AM     diablo3, game     1 comment
It was one of those run and oh! look what i found - A plan!

Plan: Demon's Hide.

So I decided why not? After crafting the easier to achieve Demon's Restraint I thought, so, let's get the Armour since my armour ain't the best. So Demon's Marrow it should be.

BUT

there was a very big problem : The Flawless Royal Amethyst.

In order to craft this,

I needed 3 Royal Amethysts

which means

I needed 9 Flawless Imperial Amethysts

which means

I needed 27 Imperial Amethysts

which means

I needed 81 Marquise Amethysts

Which means I paid

27 x 200,000 = 5,400,000

9 x 300,000 = 2,700,000

3 x 400,000 = 1,200,000

1 x 500,000 = 500,000

to get to the gem I spent 9,800,000. Almost 10 Million. And I got this.

MEHHHH...

UPDATED: 1 day after rant...

on 9th April... The patch did this to me..

REALLY?? TWO DAYS AFTER I CRAFTED IT?? REALLY!!!

Lego Diablo 3

Smithankyou     3/07/2014 10:03:00 AM     diablo3, Eatcannotbig, game, Humour, lego, Lego Vs Diablo, random, The Lego Movie, toys     No comments
You know how brands like to cross each other to combine their fan base? Over the years we have brands like Marvel Vs Capcom, G.I.Joe vs Transformers or simply a mashup of brands like these.

And of course there's also on that rumoured to be happening really soon which is everyone's favourite hero that lives on 221B Baker Street - Sherlock Holmes.

And with the latest Lego movie, we do know that multiple brand clashing into one Lego show ain't impossible. For the benefit of those who didn't watch The Lego Movie, they have a massive mashup of characters from DC, Harry Potter, TMNT, Starwars and even my favourite NBA - Shaq!

From www.bustle.com
So with Diablo 3 expansion ROS on the way, I started thinking ahead. What about a mash up of a game instead of just movies?
The battle against Diablo never stops!
And introducing the cast!
Dumbledore the Wizard
Emmet the Barbarian
One of my favourite! WlydeStyle the Demon Hunter!
Lego Smith (That's Me!) as The Last Jedi! - #Shameless new class
Random Japanese Ninja Old Man As The Monk!
Comic Relief Team - Witch + Doctor = Witch Doctor!
Benny The Spaceman as The new Reaper Of Soul Class - Crusader!!
DIE DIABLO!! DIE! (But we secretly hope you don't so we have more instalment of this game.)
You didn't ask me but...

Some people ask me why I love to play toys so much. Some people enjoy computer games, some people simply enjoy collecting the toys and put them in sealed box. As for me, I'm a little of a control freak. The reason why I like to play with toys is simply because you can create anything you want. The mashup, the storyline, the character development. It's just as good as making a movie of your own. Best part? The good don't always win in my stories. :)

Mr.Smith, CHEONG AHHHH!!!

Diablo 3 Reaper of Souls 1st look.

Smithankyou     2/10/2014 08:30:00 AM     diablo3, Game Previews, gaming     No comments
*Disclaimer: This is a preview impressions from ROS Beta and this is NOT the final game.

It's actually the very 1st time I'm part of a beta game and the best part is it's actually a game that I really really like! It's Diablo 3 Reaper of Souls!

Don't believe I really like this game? Look at the number of blogpost I have!

Most Unwanted Players of Diablo 3

Back To Hell - Diablo 3 on PS3.

How Diablo 3(and other MMORPG) is a true reflection of life.

See you in hell....

That being said, I'm never a hardcore gamer. Although I'm really a fan, I'm never good and I'm not like one of those guys who can name all the items, their stats or story plot. I would call myself the typical mass audience when it comes to gaming.

So after years of waiting after Diablo 2 we finally had Diablo 3 almost 2 years back. The most amazing thing that Diablo 3 was that there were so many people playing and even some of my friends who doesn't game at ALL was on it. But sad to say (as a fan boy) I've read a lot of bad reviews about how it's not as good as D2 so I guess D2 really did set the bar too high for gamers!

It has been 2 years and I'm sure Blizzard has been listening and which is why the Reaper of Souls is just going to be more awesome! Look at these new features!

New race, New Act, New Mode nad new artisan!!
New loot system, new difficulty settings, updated Paragon Level and they even have this Social Clan and Communities function!

Look mum! My Barbarian from D3 is now in ROS and just found a new set item. Green bar to differentiate the set an the legendary items.

There are also some minor changes to the presentation of the game for example the UI of showing the stats.

And the good news is your characters are not thrown down into the drain and they can continue to save the world and the good news is there are additional levels and new skills too!

3 new passive skills!
So in summary, what's NEW in ROS?
  • All NEW Act V
  • Adventure Mode
  • The new Crusader class
  • The new Loot system
  • The new Difficulty system
  • Paragon 2.0
  • Clans and Communities
  • Class updates and new skills
On top of all these new features, where is the story bringing us? Doesn't make sense if it's called Diablo 3 ROS but Diablo is already dead in the last instalment right? In fact I've yet to finish the new act, you guys enjoy this post while I'm going back to kill some demons and foul souls.

Mr.Smith, FRESH MEAT!

Back To Hell - Diablo 3 on PS3.

Smithankyou     9/17/2013 05:01:00 PM     diablo3, game, Game Reviews, geek, hell, ps3, StickySmith, video game     No comments
What have I been doing at home these days other than watching Breaking Bad?

I went to HELL.. AGAIN..

Despite spending hundred and hundreds of hours on Diablo 3 on the PC, I am doing it again on the console.

The Good:
  • You can play offline
  • You can share screen with 4 other friends
  • You have this Evade button which put the game to a whole new level. It's almost like playing a new game. It's not so level and item dependent as the PC version. You evade and roll around and beat it like how you would on Mega Man.
I believe this is the thing many wish to find out.
  • IT'S RAINING LEGENDARY ITEMS!!! (I probably have an answer for this.)
The Bad:

  • There is no auction house. So you don't actually get to buy items and money seems secondary. Which is probably the reason why legendary items are easy obtained in single player mode.
  • There is no PVP mode.
  • The long mins of waiting for your friends to change their gears or choose skill on the same screen. It's really time wasting especially when you are starting a new game together with 3 others.
  • The social element of it is very weak. Cause adding any new friends on the PS3 is simply adding them onto my PS3 account and not the Diablo 3 account. I wouldn't want to mix my PS3 friends with my Diablo 3 friends. and not everyone is on this game as compared to a year ago on the PC.
And why am I still playing it? Comon, it's Diablo 3. You have no idea how many man hours I spend playing the same thing over and over again for Diablo 2. It's a classic!

Mr.Smith, for once, going to hell seems like a good thing.

How Diablo 3(and other MMORPG) is a true reflection of life.

 Smithankyou     7/18/2012 04:10:00 AM     9gag, diablo3, meme     No comments
I've been spending much time in hell(inferno actually) these days. Fighting and battling the lord of all prime evil - diablo. In fact I do not spend that much time with him, I spend too much time fighting his minions and "farming".

I am not sure how many of you guys play MMOPRG or any of these games. Have you guys actually see how this is just like our life?

Add "Just like in life" after every point.

1. You need to work hard to level up and earn money. You can be good but being rich helps the game to proceed much easier.
2. You work and work and just when you thought you have enough money to buy new gears or what not, your old ones need repair and there goes your money.

3. Everytime you notice you have some cash, you will realize that you run out of pot, needs to repair stuff and "pay bills".
4. Just when you thought you are good enough and found out some "loop holes" in game server, they change the rules to their benefit. Our Gahment...
5.You farm and farm endlessly hoping for something good to happen but it doesn't happens all the time.
6. Luck does play a very big part.

All these being said, I am sure life is still different. You can't revive, you can't bring like 6 axes, 2 swords and 3 armour and still walk around looking like a boss, you can't just change a new life and start as a new character blah blah blah.

It's seems to me that I know a lot about diablo 3 but there is one thing that still bugs me all the time..

Multiplayer...

Mr.Smith, blardy hell Diablo.. why can't i just get you out of my system?

Most Unwanted Players of Diablo 3

 Smithankyou     6/04/2012 04:06:00 PM     diablo3     2 comments
It has been slightly more than 2 weeks since Diablo 3 has dawn upon us and took our soul with him to hell and it's almost always about Diablo we are talking at any social meetup.(That is if you still have the determination to walk out of the house.)

Everyone that you bump into likes to use the term "Wah, You have no life" to describe you if you completed the game quickly(like in 6 hours) or you have reached level 60. (FYI, that is the max level for characters.) but is that true?

In fact I find that Diablo 3 is actually more than just another game but also a good social platform. We meet friends who we don't talk to that often online and play together as well as meeting their friends and meet new friends too. See! Social Platform. That is having life!

See, couple bonding time too!
As much as I enjoy meeting new people off the internet I am sure we meet some people who.. we do not really enjoy their company. I really wish that Blizzard look into it that we can have a "appear offline mode" Anyway let's take a look some of the most unwanted players on Diablo 3.

*Disclaimer: This article is written for the fun of it and not to attack any players directly. Please read it with a pinch of salt.

The Shopaholic

They join your game, make your mobs harder to kill and spent most of their time at the merchant. SERIOUSLY?

The Singaporean

Very kiasu, all they want is to rush the game. Run from one quest to the other, helping you to skip your cut scene when you have never seen it before. Hello Singaporean!! Slow down your pace!

The Love Maker

They just keep coming in, going out, coming in, going out. Why? Going AH to buy and sell at every interval of 5 mins. What is the issue? They keep causing my Templar/Scoundrel/Temptress to join and quit join and quit. GOD!

The mIRC

Yes, I did say we can make friend and get connected but Diablo 3 is a game, I really wanna kill those bastard mobs. Stop chatting with me! I do not want to tell you how my day went.

The "Lagger"

It's okay to lag, it's okay to complain but seriously? Your think is this CS ah? Every death you also want to complain that you are lagging?

The "BRB"

Same reason as the Shopaholic, come into game and "park" himself there and just let the rest of us stone.

The "High Level"

This happens to me more often when I was like level 20-30 where my level 50 friends come into the game and "help" me with my quest. What happened? I have no kill and nothing to do other than just follow and walk the map.

The "Eh, show me your item"

"Eh, I have a good drop leh. You have or not? Link leh Link leh" Seriously? Can we just go on with the game first and stop asking me to link you almost everyone of my rare find?

The General Chatters

Flood me baby one more time! WTS(Want to sell) XXXX. WTB(Want to buy) YYYY. Use the auction house please!

I felt that generally it's a fun game to play as a team but it can still get really frustrating when you have such players online. Then again, it might just be me for my character is not exactly built to play as a team.

I suppose I am volatile, self-centered...

Mr.Smith, Diablo 3 Avengers.
