Lakers - Gone Fishing

Smithankyou     5/23/2012 09:11:00 AM     Lakers, NBASmith, Spurs     1 comment

What more do I need to say? After a 5 game series against the younger, hungrier, faster Thunder, the Lakers end their season at the Conference Semi-Finals once again.

They were swept by the Dallas Mavericks last season where they went on and won the championship. So will the "good luck" follows Thunder? Does that means it will be the year of the Thunder?

Kobe in 2011
Will the Thunder win? The answer is...

They will be facing off with the perfect playoff records San Antonio Spurs. They might be older, they might be a little slower but they are wiser and more experienced. Their coach is one of the best in the league. Do not get me wrong, I am not a Spurs fan in fact I hated them. So what makes me think they will win?

Remember who won the NBA 1998-1999 season when it was a shorten season due to the lockout as well?

We all remember what the "Zen Master" said right?

Phil Jackson Says the '99 Asterisk Stays

By Adria Bradshaw- SpursReport
Tuesday, May 11, 2004

No Respect For '99 Title From Phil Jackson.

Just when you thought you'd heard the last of "the asterisk..."

In Phil Jackson's mind, it's still there and it's never going away.

San Antonio's 1999 NBA championship, won during the lockout-shortened season, was one of the rallying points for the Lakers during the 2000 playoffs.

But at the Lakers' practice, Jackson said he doesn't figure on that '99 trophy being any part of a dynasty if the Spurs make a run in the coming years.

"I know it's added onto their list, but anybody who was around basketball in '99 knows it was entirely an aberration," Jackson said. "Not that they don't deserve it. They won the pack and they came out of that heap, but that's an asterisk. That's kind of a weird situation that sits over there.

"They proved it with Duncan and Robinson last year; they came out with a great championship last year and they made a great rally at the end of the year after the All-Star break. This year, they've done the same thing.

"They've repeated it with a different group of guys and that's really a credit to Popovich and his ability to coach this basketball club, this very different group. Most of them are overseas players ... that have joined together to play very good basketball."

So I believe that this yr will be another year for the Spurs... base on.... Tabloid! ZEN HAHA.

Mr.Smith, who cares who wins now. I am a "ABH" (Anything But Heat).

Busy too busy..

Smithankyou     5/12/2012 04:45:00 PM     foodRevolutionDay, NBASmith     2 comments
So it has been a busy month for me. On top of work, it's mostly still work.

I haven't been attending much bloggers event or any other social stuff too. Although busy, I've still made time for myself to do things that I like. What that has been making me really excited is actually The Food Revolution Day.

People ask me question like why am I even doing this and all and my answer is simple, it's fun. I get to meet people and I get to learn new things too. I am overweight and I am definitely not the best person to talk about healthy eating but it is through doing this event that I've learnt the importance and the fact about healthy eating too.

Doing events is my bread and butter but doing the food revolution day is totally different. When it comes to my work, it's always about budget, KPI, ROI and managing the client's expectation. When was the last time I did something I really like and enjoy?

On top of that, i get to meet a lot of people who are very passionate about food and helping the community. Food Bloggers, Sponsors, journalist, marketeers and many more. I just feel so love and touched when I see people doing things for good will and not all commercial.

Food revolution day gives me that sense of excitement i can't get from work these days. It's just like one is my wife and the other is the mistress. HAHA.

Anyway I hope to see you guys on the event itself and support me and the team who has put in all the effort!

Story so far on NBA:

We enter the playoffs, Bulls got knock out by 8th seed 76ers - Derrick Rose got injured and so out the bulls went.

No surprise for Spurs sweeping the Jazz, Defending Champion Mavs didn't last a game longer in the face off against contender Thunder.

Overhyped Knicks didn't have J Lin back in time and got knock out by Heat.

Lakers and Memphis to face off in deciding home game against Nuggets and Clippers respectively. Hope World Peace can help the Lakers proceed to round 2!

Two of the most boring match up just went to Magic Vs Pacer and Celtics Vs Hawks. It really doesn't matter that much who win.

Mr.Smith, Healthy eating is important and so is active lifestyle. Get off the seat and shoot some hoops!

Jeremy Lin and Singapore's NBA Scene.

Smithankyou     2/15/2012 04:16:00 PM     9gag, JeremyLin, meme, NBASmith, Video     1 comment
If you still have no idea who Jeremy Lin is, watch this :

This chap scored a career high of 38 points against my team Lakers and Kobe. WTF!!

And thanks to him, everyone on facebook is talking about NBA. Even peeps who doesn't watch NBA is talking about NBA, peeps who stop watching NBA after Michael Jordan left the game or since Starhub stop showing good matches. -.- NBA channel is bullshit, they will actually telecast some NBA documentary over live match of Lakers against Nuggets. If you really want to watch, get the NBA League Pass!

I could hardly remember when was the last time NBA feed came from anyone else other than myself on the facebook timeline.

I started watching him during Golden State Warriors time where he didn't have much playing time as the guard position was mostly occupied by Ellis and Curry. So the video that left me an impression of him last season was actually the one with Nigahiga.

Like what the video said, I got my eyes on him cause he is the first American Chinese to be in NBA.

So how good is this guy? He play 6 games as a started for Knicks so far and they won 6 games in a row. 6 games above 20 pts average and career high of 38 against Kobe? Take a crack at it - Quote from NBA.com

"Lin led the Knicks to a 4-0 week, averaging 27.3 points, 8.3 assists and 2.0 steals. His 109 points over his first four career starts are the most by any player since 1976-77, and he became the first player in NBA history to tally at least 20 points and seven assists in each of his first four starts. Lin scored a career-high 38 points on Feb. 10, in a 92-85 win over the Lakers."

This guy already set some records man!

No doubt Jeremy and social media did help NBA make a small "comeback" in Singapore but it still pisses some of us regular NBA followers in some way.  Comparing him with some of the all star players and even MJ? We've seen so many bright stars who didn't last long. No, I am not taking his credit away, I do believe that he is good(or at least so far so good) but it's just a little early to compare him with the hall of famers. It's just like how every other soccer player is the next "Maradona" but seriously how many Messi can we find?(Using a soccer player reference for the sake of soccer fans.)

Anyway, I thought since Jeremy Lin is so popularmainstream now, I wanna create a meme using him! Mainstream Lin!

Mavericks - NBA CHAMPION 2011 !!

Smithankyou     6/13/2011 11:08:00 PM     Champion, Mavericks, NBASmith     No comments
Champion 2011- from NBA.com
I did not see this coming. I am not exactly a true fan of the Dallas. At the beginning of every season, I would find 3 teams to support. 2 which are my standard - Lakers and Wizards and the 3rd team would be a random team I would like to watch. Dallas wasn't on my radar this season, they were on my radar the season before as I thought the Matrix, Tough juice trade would make them special but apparently they are a season late.

Never did I expect them to beat Lakers in a 4-0 fashion and in fact I thought it's almost impossible for them to beat the heat. The heat's defense against the bulls were totally different. I can't explain what happened here. The heat was playing understress due to all the talk ? The Mavericks were hungrier ? I have no idea. The Maverick were just playing at their top. I predicted that the Heat might win although I wish for the Mavericks to win and yes, the Mavericks won.

Some ask me why I hated the heat that much and I think Dan Gilbert sum it all up pretty well - " There is no short cut to success." I just do not like the idea of forming a super team and than getting some veteran players who are hungry and just take the ring away while there are teams out there playing the ass off and won nothing after decade.  I am not a fan of Celtics for the same reason ( Other than being a Lakers fan of course). I did not like how Celtics got their ring, by bringing the big 3 together. I do not like how Chelsea and Man City did the super team thing too.

I must say that I am really happy that the Mavericks Beat The Heat but it's just not as fun as watching the Lakers repeat. I just hope that the Lakers can play well under Mike Brown and they will do something to their Line up.

As of now, we have no more NBA updates !

P.S : Caron Butler is the winner of a ring without playing a single playoff game !!!

SHAQ RETIRES !

Smithankyou     6/02/2011 05:59:00 PM     NBA, NBASmith, Shaq, sports     No comments
From nba.com
The Legacy

How many seasons ? 19. After 19 seasons the big diesel finally says good bye to everyone and we can't deny how much the "big ticket" has done for the NBA scene. One of the greatest contribution of his was (although I wish to say adding 3 rings to Lakers, but it's not) that NBA sure made the rim much stronger and heavier. Fine, I'm just messy around.  The man was the rookie of the year, MVPs, 4 Rings. He is one of the best in the industry.  19 good seasons is no joke.

The Partner In Crime

My Favorite Shaq Dual

It seems like yesterday when I am this fan boy about Shaq and Penny ( I still am a fan of this dual and still wish to watch them play together. Remember earlier this year when Penny wanted to play for heats again ? I wished he land himself at Celtics and get reunited with Shaq, which did NOT happen.). I can't decide if I like this Shaq more because of Shaq or because of Penny cause I'm definitely a Penny fan > Shaq Fan. Too bad this partnership didn't get them any ring and too bad for Penny. No ring AT ALL. : (

Dynasty Baby

And then it was Shaq and Kobe. Sweet Memories for the Lakers fans. A good 3 peat before it all turns bad and I give the credit to the media. Seriously the media did too much and it would be a shame if I don't credit them for this feud. It's fun to read if you are interested. I suppose people grow up and get mature overtime and before we know it things look a little better.

Shaq's Last MVP award

Diesel and The Flash
And then Shaq and Wade ! Not my favorite Shaq to be frank. In fact I never expect them to win anything but it's NBA. Amazing happens and they surprise me. They got a ring off the hands of the Mavericks with fashion and I was happy for ZO. And Heat pretty much broke down and followed up with a worst season after this. Which is very sad but not for long since now they have super friends King James and the Semi awesome Bosh.

The not so awesome team
This is where it all went downhill isn't it? The time where he starts to lose some of his awesomeness when he land himself at Phoenix. I really can't remember what happen at Phoenix and all I could remembered was that was the season Nash didn't make it to the playoffs. The Phoenix gave the Lakers a good one during the playoffs the season after, without Shaq of course.

So we thought we were super.

And things got even worst at Cavs. They all thought that he would be the man to bring hope to both the city and James but I thought otherwise which we all know how it ended. As that ended we thought that should be the very last of Shaq but he surprise us a little I suppose.

Injuries slowed him down, didn't allow him to be his best and in fact the reason why he retired but what can I say? This little man Rondo makes Shaq turns his clock back a little.

I just love this video of Shaq at Celtics seriously.

That's my humble attempt to sum up the big man and his life in NBA.  He might not be a legend like Jordan (or James - so Scottie Pippen said) but this is one man who the NBA will miss.

Got Broom ?

Smithankyou     5/10/2011 02:34:00 PM     Lakers, NBA, NBASmith     No comments
Original Picture From NBA.com
In case you have no idea.

- He is Lakers Star Player Kobe Bean Bryant.
- Lakers' season already ended as they got knock out at playoff stage by the Dallas Mavericks
- They lost the best of 7 in ugly fashion 4 - 0
- When you lose a series of 7 with 0 win, that is call a sweep.
- And when it's a sweep, a broom is involve.
- Thus, Got Broom? - YES they have one.

So after this humiliating lost, many article spawn online and even from Lakers Legend - Magic Johnson. Should Lakers go into rebuild? Who should they trade off? Who should they keep? And when this kinda article comes on, there are bound to have articles which compares the current player and pointing finger on who are those who should leave. I just felt that the team was a little distracted as a whole. Odom having his own TV show, Artest was trying to sell his ring(talking about ring, did Morrison collected his ring yet?), Bryant has too much injuries from fingers all the way to ankle and god knows what the rest are doing.

Bynum was playing at a very good level through out the season, the killer Bs (Brown, Barnes, Blake) done their part as well which is why they are known as the killer bees but that was during the regular season. The bees and Gasol seems to just lost it once they hit the post season.

I still think that they need to give them certain credit and not just wipe the team out simply because of a sweep. I know that a sweep is disgraceful and I do not like it either. I think doing immediate movement is not a choice but then again it wouldn't be any bad to have any movement isn't it? In any case what if we really need some movement ?

Let's look at the team now.

- Bynum , Gasol , Odom

- Artest, Barnes,

- Brown, Blake, Fisher, Bryant

- Walton, Smith, Caracter , Johnson, Ratliff

I have not much information on the reserve guys as I do not have any access to their training or games. As for the starter and main bench it might be good to move some guys around.

For the big, I might let Bynum go and keep Gasol and Odom. Gasol might performed badly for the post season but I think he just need a little rest and do not forget that he is the "right hand man" of Bryant which made the back to back happened. And Bynum's health is still debatable from time to time.

Although I am never a fan of Artest, I might keep him around for now as the Lakers need his D around (still).

The guys at the back court need to shake things up a lil frankly. No doubt fisher provide good locker room asst and able to make some big shots from time to time but these days, boys at the PG like Rondo, Rose, CP3, D.William are just a little too physical for him. Brown might be a good to keep player but I would rather see him as well playing more minutes.

It will be good news if the Lakers can get either Howard or CP3 and it will be sick if we are getting both. I think it's important to bring in at least another franchise player so when Bryant is calling it a day we will still have a good player sticking around.

So many "what if" and I just hope that we all these what ifs can be cleared up. Can't wait for next season already.

Mr.Smith, Playoffs seems a lil pointless now.

Lost Angeles Losers

Smithankyou     5/09/2011 10:24:00 AM     EmoSmith, Lakers, NBA, NBASmith     No comments
Unknown Source from tumblr
I have nothing to say. Seriously nothing to say. I can see what is the issue with them on the court coming short in defense against the Mavericks but what is exactly wrong with them ? They were playing well after the All Star break, lost their home game against the hornet but this is suppose to the Zen Master's legendary 3peat and Kobe's 6th ring to match Jordan's and maybe 1 of the greatest rivalry of all time where Kobe gets to meet shag (Shaq) at the finals to face it off one last time but now? All is nothing but a stack of useless script in my head.

I understand that every team's have almost "equal" chance of winning a game but losing 4 and getting sweep at a conference semi finals is simply ridiculous. Artest getting suspended for game 3, Odom and Bynum getting ejected at the last game. Joke, this is a big fat joke.

Playoffs just seems to lost all it's meaning all out of a sudden. As for now, let's BEAT THE HEAT !!

Both the teams which were fighting their life out to get their championship ring last season have both GONE FISING !

From Left to Right : Gasol, Artest, Kobe and Fisher

From Left to Right : Garnett, Rondo, Shaq

The Lakers started first thus they already got some fish.

Mr.Smith, how disappointing... BEAT THE HEAT !

ROSE IS THE MVP !

Smithankyou     5/04/2011 10:35:00 AM     Bulls, MVP, NBASmith, ROSE     2 comments
From NBA.com
Rose is 22 yrs old, he is the youngest person to win this award and he is the only player from Chicago Bulls after Michael Jordan (1998) to get this award.

He totally deserve this. He played hard and brought the team to where it is now and he has the stats to show.  It's always tough to get the MVP and the Ring in the same season. Let's see how far can the Bulls go in this playoffs !

Playoff Round Two !

Smithankyou     4/30/2011 12:08:00 PM     NBASmith, Playoffs     No comments
We are now down to 8 teams at the 2nd round of the playoffs ! Let's break it down !

Eastern -

Bulls vs Hawks

The Animal Fight !
This season is big for the bulls and the bulls is going run over the hawks for sure. Hawks got lucky with seeding and found the struggling magic. Hawks is a good team but they just ain't good enough for the bulls. The Hawks have to find a way to stop Rose if they wish to win. Else it's not going to happen and with Hinrich down the team needs to play even harder ! Oh, on a sidenote I remember Nelson telling Rose to see them in round 2 of the playoffs.. Looks like they are seeing each other only next season. Sorry Nelson.

My Pick: Bulls taking the W 4 - 1

Heats vs Celtics

Can the Big 2 beat the Big 4 ?
Celtics was awesome against the Knicks. Never expect them to get the sweep against New York. Heats was lucky to get 76ers as a first round opponent. Look at it this way. Heats has got Big 2 (srsly bosh is not a Big) and the Celtics has got the Big 4. No doubt that Wade and James are one of the best in the business but the team still ain't playing as a full team even after a full regular season. The number of shots their centre, Big Z, Anthony and Howard takes no more than 2 shots per game. They have no confidence at all. They get grap an offensive rebound and still pass it out. It's not going to be too big a problem for the Celtics if the O'neals can come in big. And the Celtics are always playing at a very high level when it comes to Playoffs.

My Pick: Celtics taking the W 4 - 2

Western -

Lakers vs Mavericks

How many men do we need to stop Kobe?
It's nothing new for the Lakers to struggle a little in the 1st round of playoffs and neither is it something new for the Mavs to not perform during the playoffs. I can't remember when was the last time Mavs performed half as well as they did compared to their regular season. Kobe might not be finding the bottom of the basket as easy as he wished but Bynum is playing BIG and i mean really BIG in the playoff against the hornets. It's a pretty good match up for the Lakers fan actually.  At least Fisher is playing against J Kidd and not Westbrook or Rondo. (Yet)

My Pick: Lakers taking the W 4 - 1

Grizzlies vs Thunder

Now which young team will take the W ?

The battle of the two young up and coming teams ! Thunder as we all know is lead by KD who is the NBA scoring champion and as for the Grizzlies it's no cinderella story for beating the NBA best record's Spurs. 8th seed beating the 1st seed. How about that. The Grizzlies played well and hard in both defense and offense. Will the 8th seed be able to overcome the Thunder ?

My Pick: Grizzlies taking the W 4 - 2

Can't wait for the 2nd round of the playoff to start ! COMON LAKERS !!!

Grizzlies FTW

Nope, I am not exactly a Grizzlies fan but I just dislike the Spurs and that's about it. And yes, if the 8th seed wins, the Lakers gets the home court advantage against the whole west.

And I am now enjoying my easter very much thanks to their win ! They are now leading the spurs 2-1 ! Thanks NBA God for answering my call of the last blogpost. U rock !

GO GRIZZLIES !!!

The Great New York Knicks Challenge !! #NYKChallenge

Smithankyou     4/22/2011 09:34:00 AM     Games, joyc, NBA2k11, NBASmith, NYKChallenge     No comments
The sister has recently fallen in love with NBA and it's PS3 game - NBA2k11 and we have been playing quite a bit of head to head games. And after many games, and many loses, she has found THE team.

After the Melo trade the Knicks are actually pretty fun to play with. And to help her improve her play I have came out with -

The Game :  The sister will use New York and play against every other team in the league controlled by me !

The Challenge : The challenge in this game is that the sister will try to improve her winning odds by practicing using 1 team. For those who think that NBA on the ps3 is a random game you are wrong. Till certain extend you need to know your team as in who can shoot at which position and who to pass to at crutch time. So if she can win 10/29 games - She is the winner !

The Players :

Joyc Leong - The Challenger !

Title : The Challenger
Favorite Player : Melo
Favorite Team :  New York Knicks ( doh), Lakers
Playing Style : Cut and Drive
About Her : NBA Newbie, influence by the brothers. High IQ and Low EQ. 6As and 1B in her Recent A levels. Currently seeking for free study opportunity (Scholarship)

Smith Leong - The Defender !

Title : The Defender
Favorite Player : Kobe Bryant, Gilbert Arenas
Favorite Team :  Lakers, Wizards
Playing Style : High Ball Rotation, Catch and Shoot
About Him : NBA Fan since Jordan ERA, influence by the brother. Spent too much time on the social media platform and works in events industry.

The Knicks will take on the league in division format.

From Wikipedia

Previous Meetup

(base on 3 min per Qtr game)

Joyc won 1 out of 30* games. The only game she has won was with the Wizards against Smith's Cavaliers by  a small margin. And the biggest lost by Joyc was also with the Wizards. The 20 odd points lost to the Lakers.

So guys, take your pick ! Will the challenger be able to take off 10 wins over the league ?

LET THE #NYKChallenge BEGINS !

30* is an estimated number.

NBA Playoffs Bracket 2011

Smithankyou     4/22/2011 08:36:00 AM     Lakers, NBASmith     2 comments
I know we are already 2 games into the playoffs which means I am very late.

Anyway here goes.

Eastern Conference

Good to see The New York back in the playoffs and I have no idea what is pacers doing here. And yes, onces again Wizards fails to be in the playoff even with John Wall.

This result is the result I wish for. As simple as it is, I wish to watch a good finals game with some all stars player and still giving the gold to the gold and purple - Lakers.  At the back of my head I know that if the eastern conference is going to happen this way, the bulls will take the W over Knicks.

No doubt at this point New York is 2 games down but looking at the way they are playing, I am sure they can make it further as long as Anthony keeps his momentum high, Stoudy and Billups healthy.

I have totally no faith in Orlando, Howard is over-worked and no one else is stepping up. I am sorry to see one of my favorite player Arenas playing like ... no sorry.. He didn't even get to play.

As for the heats, it's a total bias prediction. I am not even predicting. I am simply cursing them. If base on  stats I think they can easily make it to the conference finals unless the team at the conference semi-finals can slow them down. It's Obvious that round 1 which is the 76ers is not going to make any damage.

Western conference

Interesting year I must say. Back to Back NBA Champion Lakers is back here to retain their titles as well as to add on another 3-peat onto the Zen Master - Phil Jackson's resume. Things are not looking as good as it should be for the Lakers but I will still believe that they can make it there. No doubt it's going to be tough facing off against the Thunders against the conference finals in this case. They are young and fast but I rather it be them than the Spurs. Spurs has home court advantage over Lakers and they are quite a nemesis to the Lakers.

There's a great power shift this year, it had always been the "wild wild west" where there are more power franchise in the west than east. But with trades like Anthony to the East and the Heats joining team, the East looks scary. Look at it again, teams like houston and phoenix are out this year, disappointing I must say. The Thunders has got the best teamup in the first round. I am saying that the nuggets are the weakest link here in the playoffs.

I pick the Grizzlies over the Spurs for 2 reasons, not because they pick up game one but, 1. they had a regular season tie at 2-2. The Spurs lost just 21 games and they lost 2 to the Grizzlies. 2. I am just hoping for the Spurs to lose it so they have no home court advantage over the Lakers at Conference Finals. (Yes, I am very bias)

 Back 2 Back !
From NBA.com

All I wish for is the Lakers to have 16 wins. : ) Let's PLAYBALL!!!

Good Bye Arenas.

Smithankyou     12/19/2010 08:18:00 AM     NBASmith, sports     No comments
After a Saturday ( Local Time), of speculation and news off different NBA forums and website. The 3 team between Magic and Wizards, Magic and Suns has finally settled down.

From @RealGMcom

The Trade

In two separate trades, the Magic officially acquired Gilbert Arenas, Jason Richardson, Hedo Turkoglu and Earl Clark on Saturday.

Orlando sent Rashard Lewis to the Wizards in exchange for Arenas.

Vince Carter, Marcin Gortat, Mickael Pietrus, a 2011 first round pick and $3 million in cash was sent to Phoenix in exchange for Richardson, Turkoglu and Clark.

Being an Arenas Fan ain't easy..
On top of being the Lakers fan you all know, I am a Wizards/Arenas Fan. Because of Arenas I have became a Wizards fan and over the past few yrs it's seriously a "fun" ride. Looking at your favorite player playing limited mins due to injuries and then bad mistakes like law suit is no joke. From one of the most exciting players to one of the most demoralize players. I kinda sense his end was near when Wizards got lucky with John Wall during the draft pick. I mean Arenas has done a lot for Wizards, bringing them to playoffs and no doubt Walls is great but I still think Arenas will be missed in D.C.

And the winner is?
I still can't figure out who is benefiting from this trade when I look at it. Lewis is struggling and so is Arenas. Arenas stats don't look all bad but I think he lost all his show biz mojo when he became Agent 9 and he is no longer the franchise of Wiz. So maybe going Magic ain't too bad for a start but will the Magic really benefit from his unpredictable playing style? They still have Nelson, Jason William at guard and now J.Rich as well. The rotation is going to be interesting. All 4 guards are all star level but totally different style.

I don't think Magic will be able to fight the Boston or MIami due to these trades thus not making them the winner of this trade.

The winner ? : Gilbert Arenas - at least he now got a shot to the conference finals with Howard n Van Gurdy.

And the loser is....

Wizards is struggling badly, year after year they just break my hear. The players ain't all bad but they just can't play as a team. I look at it that they are lacking of a real leader and a real franchise player. Can Lewis be the missing piece, I seriously doubt so. I have no idea who is benefitting more from this trade but I just felt that Wizards is the one losing the most out of this trade. Tough luck. Wizards lack a good SF at this moment due to Josh's injury but the management bringing Lewis in when Josh just recovered. Now both of them will go on rotation. McGee at C, Blatche at PF, and the guards rotation will be down to Wall ( when healthy), Young and Captain Krik. Somebody tell me this is going to work out better than having gil ?

But you will never know, players form, performance and morale are very different upon trades. New teammates, new fans, new expectation. So amazing will happen and we will just wait and see.

But as of now, The loser ? : yes yes.. It's the Wizards.

Signing off with Agent Zero -

Seriously, some of those play of buzzer beaters would be more logical if it was a pass into the paint or driving for a 2 points or draw foul than a 3 pts attempt. Exactly why he is a star and unorthodox one.

P.S : While trading to Magic, can Arenas please put on his Agent 0 jersey back on? No.9 just ain't his thing..

Should Leaders Show Emotion Like This ?

Smithankyou     7/09/2010 02:44:00 PM     NBASmith     No comments
More than hundred of books are published every year talking about leadership ( I just came out with that statistic )but how many were taken seriously and read by leaders? More often than not leaders thing that since they are the leader and they lead so since they are leading they do not need to listen to others. Is that true ?

It's the classic oh-you-are-so-great-if-you-are-working-for-me until you die and if you change your mind, you are nothing but a piece of shit !

What am I talking about ? yup, it's the letter from CAVS boss Dan Gilbert to "King" - LBJ.

An Open Letter To Cavaliers Fans From Cavs Owner Dan Gilbert

Although I am nv really a fan of LBJ cause of his attitude I have to speak on his side for this one.

People move on in this world and moreover we are talking about sportsman. It's totally ridiculous for a boss aka a leader to leave such comment. We can't denial the fact the LBJ is a real talent and LBJ had given a lot and did a lot for the CAVS. The Cavs was in the NBA Finals for the 1st time. I have no idea how will this fire up the rest of the teamate or the town but to the "King" it's a lot for him to take emotionally. He left the place looking for something better but did they have no idea what he lost? He was in the team since his rookie year till this day and his locker room teammate, fans and much more.

All I could say is that the owner is very very sour of what he lost and he is just unhappy with what he lost. Whatever he said on the letter is just out of anger and jealousy. I do not think that it is NOT any kind of betrayal ! Nuff said.

Stupid Stupid Owner ! Stupid Stupid "Leaders"

NBA Trade - So far So Eggciting..

Smithankyou     7/09/2010 10:09:00 AM     NBASmith     No comments
After the 2010 season comes to a curtain call it's a sign of a new beginning for many players. This year is one of the year with the most talented free agents. And yes, Lebron WAS on the line and up for grabs. The marketing manager/PR was really well done for milking every cent out of him. A simple 60seconds news was drag into a 60mins show and showcase to release where he is going. So let's take a look at what happened so far?

1. Amare Stoudemire to New York

One of the first transfer. Amare Stoudemire move from West to East to the Big Apple. New York was hoping that Stoudemire will be one reason to attract LBJ which apparently didn't work out. He is a good player, a good scorer, faster than the avg forward/centre although a bit smaller but this man plays no defense. With him in the team I am sure Big Apple can get a few more win but David Lee might be moving forward.

2. Boozer to Chicago

Another great move from the West to East. I like Boozer, aggressive and powerful. I am sure he will be a great help to Rose and Noah. Pretty confident that the Bulls will be in the playoffs w this addition and a older pair of the Rose and Noah.

3. The Celtics

Lots of talking about how the C's might meet the end losing to the fight of time but Ray Ray is coming back and so is Doc. Smart move I suppose. Many teams cleared their caps and send away many good players just hoping to get Wade, Bosh and James but we all know who is the winner by now. So what are we going to do with those caps ?

4. Kevin Durant !

Gave his loyalty back to the Thunder with any loud clap bang kiss. I just can't wait to see how much this young man can contribute to the sports scene.

5. Jermaine O'Neal

The was star player of Pacer. Make transfer all over and not able to perform for the last few season and landing himself at the Cs. Can he get his form back anytime soon ?

6. Dirk Nowitzki

Staying with the Mavericks ! Loyalty yes but ring no. Sorry Dirk, looks like you are going to retire with no gold.

7. Phil Jackson

Woo !! staying w the Lakers to get their 2nd Three-peat. WAAAAAY TO GO !

8. Wizards

Nothing major on them but I am very concern. Being in the same division means that you will meet each other more often during regular seasons. For those of you guys who are not very familiar with the division, allow me to fill you up. Wizards are in the southeast division with Hawks,Magic,Bobcats and Heats ! All the four team from this year's playoff. We have got some good ex-star players. We have got Hirinch from bulls and Yi JianLian from Nets. We have Arenas back and we have 1st draft pick John Walls. Are we going to the playoffs? Maybe not.

9. THE Miami Heats

This is the big question mark here. so who is going to be the star and who is going to score? We have Wade, James and Bosh in the same locker room. This is like a mini Team USA here. Bosh was at raptors and he miss quite a few playoffs and no ring. James brought the cavs to their 1st ever playoffs back then but no ring. Wade got his 1st ring w Shaq and a good injury after that and return as big mean (solo) machine. Can this 3 all star play as a team and win ? So are they going to spray some powder together ? Can they beat the Cs and Magic as a team to dominate the east like the Cs big 3 few season back? Can they break Phil's Three-peat pattern?

There are still so many more months before the season starts but the all star free agent market has already more or less settled down. Who is going to Mavs to help Dirk ? Who is going to fillup the Nets now since there is no one else around but still very rich ? Who is going to the Big Apple to help Amare? What will happen to teams with caps but no more star? What will happen to 2nd class names now ?

NBA - Where Amazing Happens.

Yeah Baby !

This has gonna be one of the best NBA Finals ever in the last 10 years !

The classic rival of the 2 NBA biggest team. The LA Lakers and the Boston Celtics.

It has come so far to a dramatic Game 7 !

And the sweeet revenge of '08s lost and humiliation which can never be written off, a 39points lost at TD Gardens.

And YES BABY !! Lakers took it home !

I can watch this video like a million times baby !!

And this is the MVP !! Kooooooooobe Bryant ~

Pictures from NBA.com

And now let's look forward to 2011 and a Three-peat !

"one more than Shaq. He can take that to the bank."

NBA Trade Review

Smithankyou     2/22/2010 10:22:00 PM     NBASmith     No comments
The All Star Week is All over already and so is the trade deadline and boy must I say 2010 did some really interesting last min trades.

Let me just touch on some of the trade which really interest me.

Of Course ! Washington Wizards ! Doing the Rebuild, Thanks to Arenas and his gun incident, the league got 1 less playoff contender ( I am not too sure if they really are after the lousy start) and created 2 new championship contender.

The Big 3 is broken up where Caron Bulter along with Haywood went Mavs to join Nowitzki, Marion,Jason Kidd and Jason Terry. It's like a lil class B All Star team man ! As soon as they could play well as a team, championship is seriously not too far away.

Bulter went from the East to West where Jamison join "rivalry team" Cavaliers and he too very fast sing the same song and lost the Washington fans respect where he mention that he never felt open for a long time. So what if he felt open ? Cav falls 3 in a roll since the addition of him and yes, game 2 of Jamison was a remarkable 0-12 FG. The team looks pretty interesting with All Star LBJ, Shaq and Mo Williams.

The Celtics send Eddie House to New York while they gets 3 time NBA Slam Dunk contest Champion Nate ! And meeting Eddie at Big Apple is T-Mac ! Looking good on debut where he scores 26 pts but falling short to 9 Win Thunder.

Houston Rockets ! My Fav Rookie which didn't get much play time - Jordan Hill. From Big Apple to Houston and meeting him there is Kevin Martin from the Kings. I actually just played a lil game using the new rockets with Jordan at C, Scola at PF, Ariza at SF,Martin ad SG and Brooks at the PG. Not too bad actually ! I just hope to see more playing time for Jordan !

Bobcats ! They got the all athletic Tyrus Thomas from Chicago which I thought is a pretty good trade.

And year after year I am waiting for Arenas to come back from injury and now I have to wait for him to return from suspension.. =.= I have no idea how to keep supporting Wizards when they are at such a shape. They just can't win !
