The Greatest Comedy Bromance

I am a big sucker when it comes to movies like romance comedy or anything romantic although you probably can't tell or you might just jump to conclusion that I am a person who is into sci-fi etc. I don't blame you. I really don't look like the most romantic person on earth.

And you know what? The good news is that almost every show regardless of the genre of movie will have have a typical good looking male and female lead that will have some romantic attraction. So what is the problem here? The problem is that we do not get enough good comedy bros that can get us through parties. I am not saying Adam Sandler or Vince Vaughn kind of comedy but I am talking like weed head/air head bros kinda of bros.

So why do I love such shows? They are easy to watch, they are happy and don't you wish to have a "bro" like that where you guys can just be happy, no worries and do silly things together with no judgement?

Enough of intro, let's go into my 5 greatest comedy bromance and if you haven't watch these bros or these shows in action. GO DO IT!

Ashton Kutcher and Seann William Scott - Dude, Where's My Car (2001) 

It is a shame these two guys didn't make more movies like these together.  It was also kinda sad how people start to judge Ashton Kutcher after this show. I thought he was pretty good in shows like Butterfly effect or Jobs. And well SWS was all american pie shit, party animal and all. I guess they are too old now for a part 2.

Kal Penn and John Cho - Harold & Kumar Film Series (2004, 2008 and 2011) 

I would say these guys are pretty "indie" considering the fact that they ain't exactly big hollywood names. I love how their shows are so out of the world but yet leaves a very deep impression even after a long time. I also like how they uses their race as a minority in the states and make jokes about it as well. They had 3 movies together in the span of 7 years and Kal Penn actually had another movie "dude, where's the party" which I've yet to watch but probably should! And I totally wanna go to the white castle.

Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter - Bill & Ted Film Series (1989 and 1991)

I watched this when I was a very young kid and think to myself, woah, these guys are the coolest. They have each other and they time travel. A time travel show, how cool is that? I would say this is one of those shows that most would have forgotten if not for news of them making a 3rd show in 2014. But to be honest I have no clue what happened or is going to happen to this project.

Mark Wahlberg and Seth MacFarlane - Ted Film Series (2012 and 2015) 

Not exactly a two man team but Ted the graphical bear is more human then anything. LEGALIZE TED! They might not be as high as the rest or they are supposed to be in the show but these thunder buddies shouldn't not be left out of this list!

Seth Rogen and James Franco - Multiple Movies (Still Active)

I believe there's no argument here if I say they are the biggest and best bromance currently. They have made so many interesting movies like the more recent, "The Interview", "This is the end" and even "Pineapple express". I like to watch their shows because they are very silly and it is always about Weed, parties, sex and crazy shit. It is so easy to watch and their shows make me really happy! I totally wanna be like them!

And they actually spoof Kayne West Bound 2. How cool is thattttt!

I mean besides the movies bros we have the Ted and Marshall, Joey and Chandler, Leonard and Sheldon but those are sitcoms and they are different. And of course we have other airhead comedies like these as well but they don't have a bro you see, like Will Ferrell in Anchorman, Jack Black and his whole Jack Black thing, The Hot Tub Time Machine guys or even Jump Street. But I just don't feel the whole Jonah and Channing team being one of my favourites. Maybe the girls will disagree but that's just me.

So here's my list of greatest comedy bromance!! Have a happy holiday and maybe you should watch some of these shows this holiday or weekend if you have no plans.

HELIOS 《赤道》Movie Review

To be honest, I have no idea what this show was about before watching it but I just decided to jump into it for the most obvious reason. The cast line up is crazy. Jacky Cheung, Nick Cheung, my favourite Shawn Yue and all the other big names! 

My favourite part about this show is that it is nothing like the typical Hong Kong movies that we have watched before. Throw those memories out of the window and look at this show differently. This show feels very much like a Hollywood film. I am no director junkie that will go crazy about the movie angle but the story plot itself blew my mind away.

This show is not only interesting but it actually has much depth. So be show to stay alert and pay attention. In case you get very lost like some of the movie chatter in the cinemas that went on and on asking questions, here's an overview of who's who.

Spoiler Alert 

Good story and cast aside, I felt that this show alone is a little weak. Weak in a sense that because this show is obviously a show with multiple instalment and thus there were many things happening at the same time and the characters were given very little time to develop. I am sucker for character development in shows where we can feel and know a bit more about each and everyone but in this show or at least as of end of part 1, we don't see a lot besides 1 or 2 of them. I guess this part of it would be satisfied in the next episode.

Hot Janice is Hot.

I really can't wait for this show to unfold further in the later instalment(s). I hope they give more air time to my favourite @Lok666 and Jacky Cheung.

I know I've watched a lot of Jacky Cheung's movie when I was younger and he was more of a comedian besides his successful singing career but this time round this is different. Be ready to be very impressed by his actor. I must say this character of his is worth some award.

Movie Title: HELIOS 《赤道》
Rating: 4/5. Really worth the money. The only reason you shouldn't watch this is because you worked like 48hrs before this and you can't stay awake for all the details. Or you prefer slapstick comedies instead of brainy movies.

Singapore's Funniest Sex Comedy - Rubbers

Sex has always been one of those taboo topic to talk about but at the same time the topic that gets the most attention. How ironic right? It is like we want it but we do not want it at the same time. #Pretentious.

How it all cum about

I was brought to attention about this show many months ago when they actually did a pitch on indiegogo to raise fund for this movie. It is some sort of a kick starter site for movie making.

I was very interested in it because sex has always been one of my favourite thing to do topic. I used to run this sex blog - Smithtalksaboutsex.blogspot.com which earned me the title "Singapore Sex Blogger" when I 1st started blogging. And this title still haunts me every now and then with the veteran bloggers who knows about it but I'm proud of it. Because sex is something we all love and we all do and I don't see a problem talking about it. 

Rubber Review (No Spoiler)

The day finally came where rubbers is ready for the big screen. I got my email invite and to be honest this is the 1st time I got so sexcited about a movie invite. A Singapore very own sex comedy. 

My favourite Character. I don't think you need to ask why

The show actually consist of 3 short stories which was 1st meant to be delivered on the big screen 1 at a time but editor managed to convinced the director to present it as 1 movie. I must say the editing was really pretty smooth. It didn't feel awkward or disruptive at all. 

The jokes were very local and that was one of the things that I enjoyed the most. The way they talk, the words they used were so "real". It is just like how you would have spoken to your friend instead of weird scenes like mediacorpse tv drama where 5 people stand in a circle and take turn to read their lines 1 after another. 

Rubber Review (With a bit of Spoiler)

Be prepared to see some familiar faces in this show like local star Chua En Lai, Kim Ng and even our director Han Yew Kuang.  He totally stole the show, his scenes were the best in my opinion. 

You may or may not remember Yew Kuang. Yew Kwang has been in the film and television industry for more than a decade. Since starting out a scriptwriter for popular Chinese sitcoms such as The Right Frequency(1998) and award winning dramas like Pass It Forward (2002), Yew Kwang has gone on to produce, write and direct various projects for film and television. His works include the romantic comedy 18 Grams of Love 愛情⼗十⼋八克 (2007) and the quirky un-romantic romantic comedy When Hainan Meets Teochew當海南遇上潮州 (2010).

Interview with the director (Spoiler Included)

I'm no journalist so do bear with me if anything sounds weird. It was a very casual interview so I would paraphrase some of the answers here and there a bit.

S(mith): What was the inspiration of these stories. Were they based on true story?
Y(ew Kuang): The plumber story is based on porn. We always see lonely female characters seducing plumbers in porn. I ask myself if we can give backstories to the characters... it might turn out to be a good story.

As for the Adam story, I heard a story of a guy, after ejaculating after sex, fell asleep without removing the used condom on his dick. It gave me imagination and I came out with the playboy story.

S: I understand that this is an indie movie which 1st started asking for funding off indiegogo, can you briefly describe how was the experience, how difficult or how easy the platform actually help in this project? 

Y: We raise only about $10K through indiegogo. But the campaign gives quite a bit of publicity to the film. And a few other private investors came and spoke to us after knowing that we were raising money thru indiegogo.

C(hee Nian - Producer): The Indiegogo fundraising idea came about when we were looking for funding to complete the shoot. We had already shot 2 of the stories (Balloons and The Plumber). The whole crowdfunding thing was a real learning experience - not as simple as just listing your idea and hope people come along and donate. It’s a lot of work and a whole jobscope in itself!

S: What was the ratio of the fund raised off indiegogo vs other source of funding. 

C: That would be about 6% of our entire budget if we managed to raise the full sum. In the end, it only comprised about 2.36% of our entire budget.

S: Can you briefly describe the casting experience? There aren't exactly nude scene but still it was a r21 show. Was it difficult to get them onboard or any insider news as in who else was supposed to be which role but rejected the role instead?

Y: We did audition some new faces for Adam's girlfriends... some were willing to strip and have no problem with the lovemaking scenes... but they were quite inexperienced when it comes to acting... some were missing comic timing... so we didn't work with them eventually.

S: Was Alaric really naked in some of the scenes? (I am not even sure why I am interested in this naked man. haha.)

Y: For the bare back scene yes. But we cleared the set, so only myself and the cameraman were in the room... before we rolled the camera, I pretended to seriously asked my cameraman "where's the monitor" and he replied "oh shit, it's outside the room!".. meaning everyone outside the room could actually see what was happening! Alaric freaked out a bit :) 

S: This got my attention. How awkward was it for Shuan to be between Alaric's legs? I am pretty sure she was biting to a harness and not the "real thing"... So is it really?

Y: Shu An was quite comfortable on set. I think she felt comfortable with us and ours was a very small and fun production team. And this is the very NSFW harness. 

S: What are the messages you guys are trying to send within the 3 different stories? Have protected sex? Don't anyhow rate a condom? 1st love is the best? or it is purely just for laugh?

Y:  Actually I don't have any formal message. I just want to bring laughter to the audience. Comedies nowadays are becoming quite complex and are trying to evoke too many different kind of emotions from the audience. So I thought I should just make one to make the audience laugh. 

S: Will we see a possible spin off or part 2 of rubber?

Y: haha, will see the response and box office of the film first. 

S: Any thing you would have done differently now that you have watched the final product. Cast, story, angle, etc. 

Y: Yes, I would have linked the story up better. Our original idea is to have 3 condoms trying to commit suicide together. One condom from each story, including durian. Each will have their sad stories to share... for example, condom from Alaric story will complain that Alaric never uses it. Condom from the old couple story will complain he lives in fear everyday, worrying that he will be blown into a balloon and burst. But we felt this treatment will be too episodic. 

I also thought of having the characters appearing in a scene of the other story. For example, marcus chin will be the first plumber to arrive before Thor. But we shot each story separately at different periods of time... so we didn't have all the cast available throughout the whole shoot.

S: What's some of your favorite scene/character in the show. Both you and Yew Kuang

Y: My favourite is Julian putting on the luminous condom and complaining that women are always so impatient :)

There you go, some of the behind the scene trivia. These guys are really fun and working with them was actually quite an experience although it was just a short scene.

So I got lucky. At that point of time I was actually doing some project with a pretty friend and she introduced me to the producer as they were looking for carelefare. It is really nothing great. I don't think I did a good handjob but it was fun. I have no lines or whatever so but the experience was pretty interesting. And I got credited on the show as - Masturbating Men. LOL! NO SHIT!

I hope you guys can catch this show when it comes on this coming 30th April. It is totally worth the movie ticket money and in fact I am planning to watch it again!!! Support local r21 show!

10 types of Mahjong Players I Hate!

Mahjong is not just a game of money and luck but also a game of wits, body language reading and of course a very healthy social event.

I am pretty sure you can tell that I am pro Mahjong with that very positive intro of the game. Some of you might not know but I've learnt how to play mahjong since the age of 10. It's one of the very few things that my dad has taught me since young. Not exactly a thing I am proud of if you look at it as a form of gambling but it has taught me a lot too.

I know friends who will meet random people online or friends of friends just to play mahjong over the weekend but that is one of those things that I cannot do. I am very particular about my mahjong kakis. To me winning is not important, it is about the process of the game and like I mentioned, social gathering. I am not too sure about you guys but there are some mahjong players that I simply can't stand!

1. Die Die Must Win 

Winning, it's Monica's thing and we all know. 

The super competitive players. They want to win. They will keep winning no matter what. I think this is a very personal preference for me which a lot of you might not relate. Maybe because I 1st started playing Mahjong with my parents and brother and winning and losing ain't really the biggest thing that we try to achieve so when we see anyone losing until very badly especially on the last "wind", we will try to game a bigger game of at least 5 - 6 folds minimum. With such gentlemanly (I would shamelessly call myself a gentlemen in this case) practice at home, it is hard for me to accept people who win 1 fold just to finish the game because they already won a lot and do not want to offer others a chance.  #ItsProbablyJustMe

2. The Zero Fighter

If my mum can read English and is reading this, this is probably for her. I cannot stand people who has basically 0 folds on table and pong chi pong chi all the random suits and HOPE to get a flower in order to win. I mean like, WAH LAU EH! ENJOY THE GAME CAN? I know gambling needs a lot of luck but can you don't be so lazy and leave EVERYTHING to luck? JUST DO IT DOESN'T WORK THIS WAY!

3. The Slowpoke 

I think this is one of the most hated players by everyone who plays in a decent pace. I understand we need to think once in awhile but this slowpoke is really out of the world. Think very slow and worst part is not during their turns they just refuse to pay attention and look at phone and what not. Wah Lau eh.

4. The Problem Child 

Always play but forever asking the same question.

"Eh, if I no tai, I can game the middle tile or not?"
"Eh, if I half color is 2 folds?"
"Sorry ah, so if I pong already can I still chi?"

OIE! USE YOU BRAIN LAH!

5. The "Sorry I never draw money, let me transfer you or maybe next time" 

DBS got this part right, JUST PAY LAH!

The ultimate chao kua. No money don't come out play mahjong lah. I play to kill time, I play for entertainment. I don't play usually play like 50cent $1, so end of the night your lost can be as low as a few dollars to max $50-$60 for a whole night. Can you fucking go draw money ahead of time? I hate it when people just leave the room without paying and keeps forgetting and there after I have to keep chasing. I know I ah beng but do I look like Ah Long?

6. The Tiny Bladder 

Self explanatory. Forever going toilet, after toilet go drink water, after drink water go find snacks. Take forever to finish 1 game.  MEH

7. The Couple

No good reason for tag team play unless you are good like these boys. 

Super love birds who plays tag team game very well. BF feed GF, GF Feed BF. Might as well get a room and have sex.

8. The "You Shall Not Pass" 

No surprise on the choice of meme here.

Because he lost round 1, he is making you guys go for round 2, round 3, round 4, round 5 until either you give up and let him win or he runs out of patience. Either way, not funny!

9. The Sore Loser

I guess this is the ultimate one that nobody can stand. Lose already black face whole night, don't talk to people, give people attitude, scold people, curse people, etc etc. I once had a friend who lost almost everything in the drawer (which was only $50 I think) and instead of counting the left over, she pulled her drawer out, threw the rest of the remaining little chips she had and said, "give you all lah give you all lah. Take everything lah" DOH. Cannot lose don't play.

10. King Of Mahjong

On the opposite pole of the sore loser. Not the type that keeps winning but the type that is very okay with losing. Sometimes I lose so much and still so happy about it that I scare my friends. They will wonder if I am really okay or am I just putting up a fake front. I am bias like this, if I am willing to sit down to play Mahjong with you, that means I am very okay to lose to you as long as we all enjoyed ourselves and had a good time. And sometimes people really hate someone who is THAT nice. #CantBlameMe

So why did I write this post? Because I just watched King of Mahjong and I was very inspired. We can tell that this is a comedy from the unbelievable cast of comedians. To be honest, I've never imagined to see such a cast on 1 single movie. Basically some of the best comedian from Taiwan, Hong Kong and Singapore.

Local King meets HK King. This two dudes are super funny and quick witted. Not just in the show but also during the red carpet event. Meeting them in person is really an amazing experience! 

So how I can get inspired by a COMEDY? This is life, sometimes you get inspiration from the most unexpected places. This story doesn't promotes gambling. This story promotes good attitude in life.
To be honest, losing is tough, nobody likes it when you lose. I hate to lose in certain things in life even till today but I guess I had it the easy way for me when it comes to mahjong because I started really young. My brother and dad was very strict about me being a sore loser especially when I was younger. My brother set a very good example to me. He was always laughing and positive about it even when losing. He will say things like "small money only, I HAVE!" As times goes by and you "lose more often", you start to understand that it is not just about winning sometimes. It's about losing gracefully. Sometimes losing is winning. That's the morale of the story.

I really like how prety Cheronna Ng 吴嘉熙 is. She totally caught my attention at 1st glance but Venus Wong 王敏奕's character had more to show in the show. Super awesome acting from her.

And my favourite part of this show? They ALLOWED CANTONESE!!! OMG! SUPER HAPPY! Those conversations were so natural and close to heart! (Cantonese is 1st language for me in my family) This show is a very good show for the festive season and it's really amazing to see so many familiar faces in one show.

Local "Jokers". Pretty cool to see Pat Mok! Been awhile since we saw her on any shows. And that's Dennis Chew with his "GONG XI GONG XI GONG SIMI Tee!"

So don't forget to catch this show if you like comedy! Don't forget to watch this show if you like Mahjong! This show will be up on the 1st day of Chinese New Year which is 19th Feb!

The Little Death Movie Review

The Little Death

It has been a little while since I last did a movie review. It's not because I did not watch movies or neither is it because none of the shows were worth it but I guess pretty much was due to the fact that I've been watching a lot of main stream movies these days and those reviews can be found anywhere else easily.  #HipsterGonnaHip

Anyway, I was introduced to this show "The Little Death" recently and I managed to get a copy of it. I was 1st drawn to it because it was about sex and it's a comedy so I thought nothing can go wrong and I guess setting such expectation did give me a great element of surprise. And by you reading this probably already spoilt the fun of it.

The Little Death is like Love Actually but the sex version of it. It's interconnected by a few different characters and stories. Which is kinda like my favorite chick flick he's just not that into you as well.

Something that really impressed me was that it's not just one of those shows where they use sex, boobs and hot actress just to fulfill the box office need. It shows a very raw and real side of couples and sex. The truth that no matter how much you love each other or how perfect you are a couple in the day, there will be minor differences in life especially sex that comes in between couples.

This is something that I've always stressed about in couples. It might sounds shallow or even a little crazy but the fact is that sexual compatibility is just as important as any amount of compatibility as anything else. You might not know but many relationships and marriage simply fall out as sex as their biggest issue.

Not doing the way the other person like it, not doing as much as the other person or maybe even difference in physical. These are just basics.

In the show, they also touch on the fact of sexual festish. One of those things that maybe even your husband or wife might judge you for. Are you able to handle the person you love the most and want to spend the rest of your life with have weird sexual fantasy? How far can you go? How weird is weird? 3some? BDSM? Swinger? Public sex? And how far are you willing to accommodate? I know, many might say that sex is not everything in a relationship but the irony is that it can be something that breaks down everything.

Sex is something very intimate and something that "should" only be done with the one that you person that you have agreed to marry, love, take care of and be "fateful" to. It might sounds totally reasonable to many of us because since young, we have been "educated" in a way be it through schools, religion media and even our parents to believe that being faithful means not hurting the one you love and means not sleeping around because sleeping around means you are a slut or unfaithful. And at the same time, if you believe in God, that's probably the reason why there's Aids or any other STDs because sleeping around is a "crime".

But have you stop and think about it before, if sex is like dancing it means that no matter how much you love somebody and how lousy that person is at dancing, you can only dance with that person simply because you love him/her? Or play badminton or tennis only with that person because you love that person and this is an unique activity that you have to do with that person no matter how big a difference are your style in?

How can someone dance hip hop with a person who can only dance tango? My analogy here might be a little far fetch, or is it? It is only far fetch if your mindset if fixed because sex is different from anything else. It is sacred and special. Or is it not? Is it really that different?

Whichever the case your believe is when it comes to sex, the power of this show is showing you the fact that sex CAN in fact be very very complicated for couples. No matter how perfect you are a couple by day, by night, every other couple might have difference and such difference need communication and even certain compromising to be made in order to have a strong and loving relationship. Sex therapist plays a very big part but the ball (no pun intended) still lies in your hand about how open are you to fulfill each other's desire.

Would this be less complicated if sex is something that can be accepted like something totally unrelated with love? Something like dinner. You can have dinner with anyone without going home feeling like you've cheated on your wife because it's just dinner. And your wife will not get angry because you ate dinner with someone else. Because dinner is not exclusive, because having dinner with someone else doesn't means you love that person more. It could just means that your wife ain't free for dinner or because you want to eat Chinese food that night and your wife ain't into Chinese. This might sound crazy but imagine how many couple would still be a happy and perfect couple together if this is how sex is written?

This is Erin James. Her scene was really funny and i thought she was really pretty!

Anyway, besides this part of the show, there's also some very interesting scenes, twist and also jokes in the show. It might not have a great cast that you will find familiar, graphics or even Michael Bay bombing but this show definitely worth watching if you are into such social topics like me.

Mr.Smith says it might not be like Dark Knight but I still give it 5/5 for its genre and uniqueness. Way better than Don Juan for sure. ScarJo didn't save that show.

Dolby Atmos Movie Experience

Besides playing my Pokemon games and shitting rainbow , I also spend a lot of time partying drinking, and listening to loud music. So don't be surprise when you pick up my head phone and the music is always loud. Because I think i am already quite deaf sometimes. 

And also partly because of all the gun fight I get myself into when I was trying to save the world. I guess it is that price to pay when you want to save the world and in our modern world, sword fight ain't exactly the most popular way to fight.

Movie Going

Despite the fact that I self proclaim hearing fail, I still believe that a movie experience will not be complete without a good sound system and effect. Isn't that the whole idea why we pay for movie tickets to get into the cinema? Alternatively we can just download buy DvD or get it off Netflix isn't it? 

I am sure this conversation is very common in your daily life when you discuss about a movie, 

A - "Is the show nice?" 

B - "Not bad" 

A - "Worth watching in the cinema?"

B - "Ya ya, you better go watch in the cinema, the sound effect and experience is wayyy better" 

A - "ok ok, if it is just some comedy with no effect or no action I will just watch on video" 

Dolby Atmos 

But do you know that even at cinemas you get different sound quality too? You know how we always call it "surround sound", "sub woofer", "digital", "5.1" etc. What does it really means? 

You might be able to feel the difference from your laptop like how we did in the cinema but this video very much explains to you how did they make the whole surround sound works and how Dolby put their technology to a bigger hike, not just surround sound but also bringing you "into the movie".

Like mentioned in the video, Dolby Atmos is a cutting-edge, sound technology that gives us listeners the experience of enjoying sounds that are realistic, immersive & 360 degrees! We can now even know who farted just from the sound! 360 Degree FTW! :x 

Hunger Games Mockingjay Part 1

Are you here to fight with us? Katniss Everdeen: I am. I will.

Many commented that this part of the movie is not as exciting as the previous parts because of the lack of fighting scene as compared to part 1 where the hunger game was the main focus of the show.

I guess I got the longer side of the stick to really enjoy the show thanks to Dolby Atmos. I really enjoyed those scenes where I see the people got united, stand together, singing the song of angry man. (oops, wrong movie) and marching on for democracy. Those scenes were so intense to me that all my hair were standing and I do not know how to explain it but I just feel a sense of motivation and I was really very touched to be honest. 

The realistic war scenes were totally brought to live with Dolby Atmos technology. You can feel the planes zooming pass your head and bombs dropping right beside you. The experience was phenomenal.

I really like how to story was put together at the same time with the clarity of the sound that really transported me into the movie and I felt like I'm one of them from district 13. (Oh wait, you didn't know there's a district 13?) 

For those who have yet to watch the show, go catch it, catch it at a Dolby Atmos movie theatre like Vivocity or JEM where I did. Yes, it is worth watching in the cinemas but only with Dolby Atmos. Trust me.

Singapore Ah Beng Movie: 15

I have been calling myself "Ah Beng" but what does Ah Beng means? Is being Ah Beng something to be proud of?

My favourite Ah Beng has to be broadway Beng. Bringing the broadway and musical culture to a mass market level where everyone including the old and young can accept and enjoy. Not to forget his effort in bringing dialect back!

I mean not all "Ah Beng"s are nice and funny people like us. The "actual" Ah Bengs are usually referring to young gangsters who pretty much get themselves into trouble 1 time too often.

15: The Movie

Not too sure how many of you actually watched this show or heard of this show. It is a show by Royston known as 15 and also known as "Ah Beng Story" to me.

I guess if you have friends like them or cross path with them before you will actually find this show kinda close to heart. For example like myself.



I must say this is actually one of the best local shows I've watch. Jack Neo? Hmmm.

Ah Bengs

So are Ah Bengs bad people? To be honest these guys are the best friends one can have. They are loyal and they will always help you when you need help. They do not care about what car you drive, what school you went or how much you earn a month. They are not pretentious and you can be who you are and say what you want.

Where are they now? 

So I heard stories that they got into quite a bit of problems because of this shows, ratting out some information that they shouldn't. They might not be the best actors but they sure did bring out the very real and candid side of the whole culture.

They are not my friends but I hope they are doing well or at least alive. Anybody has a clue? Of course I tried google with no results.

Anybody with information please do let me know. Just out of curiosity. I am not head hunting them.

DISNEY'S PLANES: FIRE & RESCUE REVIEW

School holiday is around the corner once again and the sad news is that as parents you do not get the holiday as well. So what can we you guys do as parents since it's almost impossible to bring them for a get away?

What about catching a meaningful animated show?

Planes: Fire & Rescue
For those who did not catch Planes part 1 fear not because there are little importance of part 1 besides a few recurring characters. You still have time to rent the DvD and catch up if you are planning to watch this on 4th September or next week during the school holidays. (Funny story, Part 1 was aired on 5th Sept 2013 and this year it is 4th Sept! 1 year!)

If you were to ask me which show is better I would say Part 2. Just a short summary of part 1 for comparison sake is that it's a typical underdog story where you can achieve anything as long as you believe in yourself and our hero will win. Tar Dar~

My favourite characters! Pincone, Drip, Avalanche, Dynamite and Drip! 

So here comes the question, what's going to happen next? Is he going to continue flying, reoccurring villain and he fly and fly and beat him again? No. To avoid spoiler I would say the story line is bigger than this and it is rather meaningful because it's a tribute to fire fighters and besides that it also includes a little of the classic injured-athlete story which is pretty interesting to someone like me who is into sports.

You might be the best in your field(pun intended) but there's always someone out there with something to teach you. Stay humble and be a team player.

It has really witty lines besides the touching storyline. There's this line you have to watch out for when they were in a bar and this car use a very cheesy pick-up line on a female car and the female car went "Tsk, pick-up truck" HAHAHA, GEDDIT? But that's not my favourite line because my favourite has to be this,

"When others fly out, heroes fly in"

To the family
I went for this show with my "kids" aka my 2 nieces and nephew. Of course there's no way I could handle all these 3 little ones myself, the gangster wife and their mum came along.

Sometimes people mistaken them for my kids..I would be proud if they were.. Some day I would want a daughter too (i think)

I would say this cartoon is more than just another cartoon for them because the main character is a plane. The kids relate planes to their late father, my brother because he was a pilot. Little Abby would look at the sky as well as planes and call shout out to papa from time to time. 

Conclusion:
Before I digress on, this show is worth watching. It is worth paying even for weekends if you are bringing the kids. If you are going on a date it's actually not too bad for a laugh and light hearted evening but if you are two bros... According to the bro code page 84, section 7, paragraph 3, 2 bros shall never go and watch any cartoons alone... UNLESS you have plans to pick up some girls at the cinemas. ;)
