How to be a model.

You guys remember one of the reasons Why I Hate Social Media?: Self Glorification. If not, read that post again. Social media makes everything so easy and so accessible, for example a fat boy like me became a model for Wella some months ago. So with that I could have easily added that onto my resume and I am a Social Media Guru, Online Journalist (Blogger), Events Planner, Creative Director, Show Host, Model and Founder of Waddup Events. Fucking a mouth full (no pun intended) isn't it? 

Think Proper Before You Speak!

Is that suppose to be cool or is it suppose to tell people that I am a jack of all trades but master of none? I am an adventurous person when it comes to experience, I like to experience different things and different jobs. Starting from a young age, I have been doing different kind of jobs just for the fun of it. Every school break, I would hunt for different job even when the previous boss ask me to go back or pay me a little more. My point was "Once you step into the society for a full time job, you wouldn't be doing such things anymore. So why stick to one job?" So I have been a... WAIT FOR IT...

• Soldier (Have to list this down.)

And I think that's about it (Or as much as I could remember.) Where else when it came to full time job, I have always been in the industry of talent management, events and marketing. So I was pretty glad that I did "mess around" a little before I "settle down". Show hosting was something that I pick up along the way and guess what? I picked up my first paid MODELING JOB. #LinkedinHaolain Okay, just to clarify this, I am not showing off but it is something which is more unbelievable than anything other thing. I am overweight and don't have the best smile. Nevertheless the good people at Bombastique gave this opportunity to me!

Actually, no, I am no model material and I don't think this is something a fat 28 years old man can do for a living but for those of you who flips magazine and you think it's easy to look pretty I'm telling you it's not. It is fun no doubt but it's tiring. Smile! Smile! and Smile! And you have no idea how long you can look cool and have job in the industry and I don't believe you get a "promotion". So I guess that's the not so cool part of the job.

Keep Clam and eat Mee Siam? Oh no. I mean Laksa.

Anyway, I did talk to Melvin, the man himself on why he chooses me as a model for his T-shirts. He mentioned that it is difficult for guys to be open and take crazy pictures or express themselves. It is way easier for him to get the female models but guy models who are good looking are a little more self-conscious I guess. So I guess with that, one tips that I can give guys who are interested in getting some ad-hoc modelling gig is to CAMWHORE MORE!!

Look at my belly. LOL.

And to sum up what Melvin was saying, I guess what he meant was it's not that easy to find shameless guy. But I guess he did found me after all. I sure hope his T-shirt sales will get better and not worst with a fat boy selling his clothes no?
