Baby Seth goes GameStart 2016

So last weekend I brought the son and wife to Game Start 2016. If you have no clue what event this is, it is almost like comic con in USA but not so much comic and instead focuses more on gaming. I mean I have to be there since I'm such a nerd gamer. We got to see some gaming booths, toys, cosplay etc lor. If you follow such events you will know that STGCC just happened a few weeks ago and it's very similar. Although one focuses more on gaming while the other on comics and toys, the target audience are very similar. I find it's quite a bad idea to put these two events so close to each other. I mean, let the boys' wallet take a break right?

The highlight for me has to be the Playstation arena. There's no sales of new games or freebies but just look at the set up. It's damn freaking GRAND?? And what was happening?

It's a Tekken 7 Tournament! I've been waiting for this game to hit PS4 for the longest time!!! I know it's out in the arcade for the longest time but erm, I'm too embarrassed to be doing this at the arcade. Like you know, getting beaten flat by probably a 6 yrs old kid. ><

Besides the Playstation zone, the other area that totally got my attention was the Local Startup zone. All the individual startups were there to show case their own Indie games. One of those that really caught my eye was this "Spacejacked". I managed to have a short chat with one of the co-founders, Chin Yong Kian. They are totally self-funded. They will do part time jobs as well as take up freelance project to fund their own product. It's so blardy cool right? I mean isn't it like almost every other boy's dream to be a game producer but how many actually made it happen?? Pls support local talent. This game can be downloaded on STEAM and soon to be on consoles like PS4!

Getting into Fights

I mean if you guys follow my blog or Instagram you will know that I always do this whole Ah Beng OOTD thing where I squat all over the place. 

Ignore the other fat guy on my hashtag. Annoying, hashtagjack me. LOL 

So some of my ang mo friends were asking me what is this whole "Ah Beng" thing about lah. So I was sharing with them how it is like the local hooligans or even "rednecks" some what similar. And they gave me the same reaction, 

"You? A Hooligan? Comon. You are a decent business man with a little teddy bear face. How much of a hooligan are you?" 

Ok, fine. Decent business man, yes but they didn't say I have a (cute) teddy bear face. I added that to level up my own cuteness. (Whatever lah.) 

Truth is, I was a typical ah beng running around the hood, and I get myself into troubles more often than I should when I was younger. But of course I'm not talking about crime kinda troubles. And given how good I am with my mouth, I get myself out of trouble very easily. (Not what you guys are thinking. I mean I talk my way out of trouble lah.) 

One of the most typical trouble that Ah Bengs get into would probably be fights and the silliest way but yet most common way to get yourself into one would be the "Staring incident" 

"Oie, you stare what stare?"

"What stare? You stare what?"

"I where got stare at chiu?"

"You neber stare at me how chiu noes I stare at you?" 

"Stare your "m*ther lah" 

And than the rest are history. 

So how often do I get into such fights? 

Never.

Because nobody could tell that I was staring at them with my tiny eyes lah! 

That said, I do spend a lot of time fighting at the arcade - on Street Fighter machines. But I'm really not good at it and thank god for consoles like Playstation where I can play all I want at home. Some things just never change, I am still not good at it but the game did come a long way with plenty of changes. Just look at the graphics. 

My wife would always ask me, "It is always just two person fighting each other right? What's so fun? How come you are always busy new instalment of the game that is like the same thing as compared to the previous one?" 

Hello woman? New game mode, new characters, upgraded fighting system, and better graphics. Same meh? 

It's like saying a handbag is a bag, why do you need 30 different design to go with different dresses? Still the same mah right? But I cannot say that, because between the two of us, I have more bags than her. #IAmTheWoman 

And the one thing I always look forward about such new games is really new characters. I love it when they give me a selectable roster of as many characters as possible! 

My favorite new character in SF V! Rashid! He is very fast and his moves are pretty easy to execute. 

For those who knows SF previously on PS3, it was pretty annoying cause they kept coming out with different versions. Like Ultra version, Arcade version etc and the character list keeps get updated by a few characters and I had to buy extra copies of it. -.- But the good news is this time round this probably will not happen. There is a shop function where you get to just download the characters via gamepoints or cash (for lazy people like me. Use money to solve problems).

And my favourite game mode has to be the survivor mode. It's not like typical old school survivor mode where you will be made to play the whole game without dying. They actually allows you to purchases certain upgrades to keep yourself alive. So it's not just purely skill but it also involved some brains to plan your purchases. 

Buying the right item at the right time is very important!

My result on my first try. I like games like these where I get to keep beating my own record to see how far I can go! 

Yeah, everyone is going on and on about how I am a new dad now but I still have time for gaming right? It's about time management people! Just sleep less. Sleep is for the weak! 

And also kids, be good, stay in school, don't get into fights. If you need to, I hope you are doing it on the right platform - like PS4, Street Fighter 5!

Uncharted - The Nathan Drake Collection Giveaway

Many of my friends have been asking me if the time is right for them to get a Sony Playstation 4 especially for casual gamers who did not spend much time on the Sony Playstation 2 or 3.  One of the most common questions I get is;

“Are there enough games to play?”

What is Uncharted Nathan Drake Collection?

If you are unfamiliar with Uncharted series, it is about Nathan Drake, a treasure hunter and his adventures. It was 1^st introduced on the Sony PS3 in 2007 and since then we have had 3 different installations.

Besides the gameplay and the engaging storyline, one of the things that I really like about Uncharted series is its controls. There are a lot of interesting games out there but awkward controls can really piss me off. This is not the case for the Uncharted Series.

Uncharted is really one of those series that can keep you at the edge of your sofa for a very long time since it is actually 3 games in 1. #BestBuyEver

So basically I am paying for some old games?

I don’t know about you but playing vintage games is one of those things I enjoy doing. Moreover for this series, I actually started on Uncharted 2 which means I totally missed part 1. So it is all good for me to start from Uncharted 1 this time round.

That’s not all. For Nathan Drake Collection, there are actually some improvements as well as new modes for those who have already played it.

In addition to the upgraded 1080p/60fps detail, there are 3 new modes in the game:

Explorer Mode: For beginners and casual gamers to step into Nathan’s shoes comfortably, where combat difficulty is reduced

Speed Run Mode: With a timer slapped on the game, speed runners can track how quickly they are making it through the game

Brutal Difficulty Mode: Unlocked only after finishing the game on Crushing mode, it is the toughest difficulty setting available to play on the game on. Recommended only for Uncharted pros. (Do you think you can handle it?)

Photo Mode: Using Photo Mode, freeze, edit, and share photos of your favorite Nathan Drake exploits and share them with friends using the PlayStation 4 share functionality. This is really one of my favourite modes. I love using this to take pictures and uploading them onto FB or Instagram later as well!

Not the biggest fan of Mike Chang to be honest but this exercise takes the cake. If you are complaining that the air is stopping you from working out. This one be the only workout you ever need.

You guys know how much I love my video games and how I am always addicted to NBA2Ks on my PS4 but "Until Dawn" is something really different. Not only is the graphics superb but the game play is something very refreshing. It is almost like watching movies with participation from you. Dying doesn't stop the game. You can actually aim to kill all of the characters and still complete the game.

5. Sex

Self explanatory. About time ya?

I mean of course there's a lot of other things to do like for example shop on taobao, read my dumb blog etc etc but I guess this 5 are my top activity to battle against the haze!! Unless you really wanna do you part you can also fight against it literally.
