Korea's First Alive Museum in Suntec City Mall Singapore

Smithankyou     8/11/2014 09:30:00 AM     Alive Museum, interesting place to visit in Singapore., Museum, omy, places of interest, singapore, sponsored post, tourism     4 comments
After much hype and anticipation, I finally made my way to the Alive Museum in Suntec City Mall Singapore! I did not just go alone (duh) but I went with my wife, my mum, aunt, sister and sister's bf.

1st thing 1st, the "mandatory" Angel shot. Glen was way too tall for this and we had a good time laughing at the fact that the wings came out of his hip. I was trying to be emo but i look fat and that's all. LOL.

My action pack mother!

Hip-ster angel. Like literally.
The original Alive museum 1st opened in 2009 in north south korea. It is also the world's largest chain of such entertainment concept where 3D art comes alive with clever painting, shading and drawing techniques.
I believe this was placed there for me.
This is very 3D indeed. Maybe just double Ds to be honest.
Oh Hello~
Alive museum is expanding globally. Besides this one in Singapore, they always have 8 other branches in Korea, 3 in China, 1 in Turkey, 1 in Thailand and 1 in Vietnam. A total of 15 Branches around the world!

My mum is 64 and still rocking it. We answer all the doubt of where my craziness came from. And yes, your mum can visit the museum too!

There are over 80 masterpieces, of which 9 are locally themed and unique to Singapore.

Apocalypse? bitch please. Can you spot MBS?
Don't worry. This is just ponding not a flood!
Big Mouth Man!
To be honest, visiting this gallery ain't exactly an easy job. In order to take nice pictures one needs to know how to post and shoot. Lucky for noobs like us there's always demo pictures on the walls as well as photo point stickers on the floor to guide you along!

Besides that, some of the pictures are not as easy as it seems okay! I just can't get this right. TOO FAT LAH!
And I got a little pissed at the king of "popped"
AHHH!!! GO AWAY LAH! STOP TRYING TO KISS ME!
Of course he ain't the only person who I got a fight into.

#ProTip

The museum ain't the biggest place so my advice is avoid the crowd if possible and go early or during weekdays off peak period. Tell your boss you need to be away for 2hours or so, I'm sure he will get it! Go with a group of people who are crazy enough and also able to take nice pictures for you.

Fingers crossed to not meet big groups of kids.
A few exhibits can share the same space so be prepared to wait for your turn.
Be prepared to crop the pictures when you are home. And don't set your expectation too high if you are not prepared to do the above. As some of these are printed on the wall and not painted using paint, be prepared for a lot of reflective balls of light. I did not even use any flash in these pictures.

Raw picture. I mean no cropping nor editing the lighting.
Quick Facts

NOOOOO
My wife who is hardly impressed had a good time too. I am sure you would too.
In conclusion

We had a very good time hanging out. The walk is just about right, not too long nor too short. And I shall not spoil you with too many images cause the best experience should be experienced by yourself! Around 30% of the masterpieces will be changed every 12-18 months thus locals will be able to enjoy a brand new experience on your repeated visit.

LOOK HONEY!
Mr.Smith, I~~ FEEL SO ALIVE!!! FOR THE VERY FIRST TIME!!

Review of Forest Adventure at Bedok Reservoir Singapore

Smithankyou     3/13/2014 09:00:00 AM     activities, bedok reservoir, carrie, Events, Forest Adventure, fun, interesting place to visit in Singapore., Michelle Ang, Outdoor, places of interest, sponsored post     No comments
Part of the effort of staying active and healthy, we have decided to accept the challenge to visit the Forest Adventure at Bedok Reservoir.

Joining the wife and I are Carrie and Michelle.
To be honest, one of my best friends stays right opposite Bedok reservoir, I've spent some time in that area but I've never paid attention to this facilities and in fact I've never even seen it around before!

What is Forest Adventure?

As the name suggests, it's a tree top adventure course where you get to climb tree, jump around and slide around using the zip lines. More commonly known as the "Flying Fox"

Flying What? When the F*** did I fly? << #ThatsWhatHeSaid
When it comes to such adventure courses there will be a few common questions that hit most people before they participate so I will share with you some of these answers here.

  1. Is it Safe?
  2. Is it too difficult to complete? I'm fat, ugly, lonely and stupid. Can I do it?
  3. Can I skip any stations if I'm really not good at that station?
  4. Is it expensive? And How long is the course?
  5. The instructor pretty or not? (Maybe that's just me)
Is it Safe?

Well, take it this way, this is Singapore and anything unsafe shouldn't be operating but we can't compromise on safety and after visiting the course myself, I would say that the thing that impresses me the most is their safety procedures. They have these safety guidelines that not only make you feel safe and confident about joining but at the same time you wouldn't feel like it's too much of a chore to follow.

Something that really woah me was this "Red-On" safety function.

This "Red-On" is basically your ultimate life line system that will be there to hold on to you if you ever going to fall. The system is so intelligently designed. As long as you reach any tree top, that will be the 1st thing you will do, hook yourself up onto this. Why intelligent? Because it goes around the tree and once you are hooked up you will be be able to move around the tree and wait for your turn seamlessly but at the same time still feeling safe. Safety Precautions: 5 Stars

Is it too difficult to complete? I'm fat, ugly, lonely and stupid. Can I do it?

Well, I did it. I'm not very ugly or lonely, just fat. My wife who is not the smartest when it comes to hands and legs coordinating did it as well so I guess this course is not going to stop anyone. That being said, it is still challenging in a fun way. Not challenging till a point where you wish to give up.

This is the part where being a little "fat" can be a problem. I seem to be stuck in the net and Sakura from Ninja girl got really bored waiting for me.

How some of the course looks like.

Many felt that this was the most challenging.

Can I skip any stations if I'm really not good at that station?

Some of the stations are being executed continuously and some stages are a distances away from each other.  Technically I believe you can skip some of them as long as they are not those that are linked together back to back. That being said, there is no good reason for you to skip any stations actually. They are really pretty achievable. If the girls I can do it, so can you!!

The wife looking like a pro.

Ninja girls showing us their ninja skills

Michelle is seriously a dare devil. Nothing slows her at all.

One of my favourite shot taken that day by me of Carrie sliding down the zip line.
The real ninja!

Is it expensive? And how long is the course?

Grand course is $44 and the whole course took us around close to 3 hours so if you ask me I think it's pretty affordable for a whole afternoon of fun. In fact there are other packages as well as for kids too. Check out the full price list here!

Take the pretty girls pictures and go knock yourself out...

I know not everyone is here because you guys want to read my naggy writing and I also know you guys are here to check out the pretty girls pictures. So I shall not bored you longer with my writing. Go knock yourself out ya?

Michelle looks like Emmet from Lego Movie

Now you are safe with the helmet!

Act scare only.
Hum Ji Wife showing us what she got!
Carrie looking very serious.

I'm THE QUEEN OF THE JUNGLE!

How many ninjas can you find?

Upskirt selfie.

in my opinion this is the toughest station. I felt like I was falling off. But I still did it!
Don't ANYHOW PULL LAH!!
You get a cert for completing!
AHHH I'm SCARE!! This was the trial before you go onto the real thing.
Big package. Nice picture.

The wife really enjoyed herself and talking about going back!
I'm just glad it's over!

Overall

I think overall it's a superb experience especially when you are having it in Singapore because for 1 you hardly expect this to be in Singapore and 2 you know it is really really safe and only when you know it's safe, you can truly have fun!

I will totally visit the forest adventure again if there's an opportunity!!

Meanwhile don't forget to Like their Facebook Page for latest updates!
