A New Affair In Town - (Not Jack Neo)

The cat is out of the bag and the latests affair in town has been exposed but it ain't all bad cause it's not another secret affair. This could be the sweetest affair in town for this season.

This interesting "person" followed me on twitter out of no where on this one fine night and not only did she followed me, she followed many of the "usual suspect" on the timeline. We all went clueless and was wondering who is this "person" and all we know is that she look a lil fictional to us.

Here is the suspect -

So we were all talking about who she could be and what is she doing on our timeline ?

Not long after meeting suspect 1, suspect 2 spawned out of no where as well and soon they were talking abt meeting up and having coffee and dating !

Suspect no.2

They were always twitting about meeting up and dating in different places from Tampines 1 to Clarke Quay to Ion Orchard and many more. Many of their "dating" pictures was posted on both twitter and facebook.

Some guess they are just some stupid marketing gimmick, some guess they are from STB trying to bring people to different shopping areas and some guess they are with SDU promoting how twitter can get couples together and what are the romantic things they can do.

Most of the speculation sounds logical but some other guesses were closer and what gave them away was the name "B"illie and "J" ane as well as their artwork.

After being teased for the few weeks, the cat was let out of the bag that they are the new mascot of Ben and Jerry's new flavor which will be launched on the same day as the popular "Free Cone Day"

B&J didn't just sum it all up with a launch and call it a day but they call it the "wedding" and the "father" they got in the house for the day was none other than Mr.Brown !

And they live happily ever after. Oh, and they even have their FB page too !

I am not too sure about how you guys felt about this whole campaign/teaser but I thought it was pretty good.

1. They created a teaser thing to create talks on the timeline of Twitter

2. They actually visited different malls/places of interests where there ain't Ben & Jerry's branches

3. They didn't just end this online effort online but bringing it offline n sum it all up.

4. This is like one of the few online + offline campaign that I can remember

5. The product name + character + method it was carried out + free cone day all sync in very nicely.

But of course the thing I went debating with myself was whether it's all worth it as Twitter timeline is still very very targeted and many people who turn up for "Free Cone Day" might not know what this whole thing is about.

And about the Ice Cream -

It's not just another Cookie and Cream Ice Cream !! Normal Cookie and Cream Ice Cream contain mainly "Oreo" looking cookie + Ice Cream but the Cookie Affair had the Additional Brown cookie in it which is similar to those you can find in some flavor of "Strawberry Cheesecake Ice Cream"

It's very sweet and very yummy and very very sinful.

I've gotten mine so what are you waiting for ??

P.S : I have no idea who is behind these accounts but apparently Jane knows who am I and she actually saw me at #TwestivalSG last week but didn't say hi. I am still angry hor !!

Ben and Jerry's launched the Sing-a-Scoop promotion and revealed the brand new interiors of it's Scoop Shop at VivoCity, and as mentioned, all you have to do is Sing you Orders out and you will get free Ice Cream for that effort and it's not just any Ice Cream but it's Ben and Jerry's Ice Cream we are talking about !! Sing it well to get whatever your creation is or get a reward of a free scoop of ice cream for your effort if you didn't sing that well. Either way you'll still be a winner !

And I was pretty lucky as I got to see some action too !

Is it me or does this young lady look really familiar... And she was singing an edited version of "Barbie Girl" by Aqua and one of the line goes " Ben and Jerry's, It's Fantastic " The song was really cool and I thought I shld get a few tips from her on how did she come out with such a nice tune.

Later then I found out that she is actually Jasmine Tye from Singapore Idol 2. No Wonder she looks familiar, and I felt like a total idiot for not recognizing her at the 1st sight ! *slaps forehead*

And the conversation went something like this * -

Smith : So why are you doing this ?

Jasmine : Why not ? It's for Ben and Jerry's !! I'll do everything for Ben and Jerry's !!

Smith : So how long did it took you to come out with your version of the song ? I thought it's really neat.

Jasmine : hmmm, not that long actually, it just took me awhile earlier this morning.

Smith : Woo.. looks like it's not that difficult after all eh.. And your favorite flavor of BJ Ice Cream would be ?

Jasmine : Chunky Monkey !!

Smith : That's my flavorite too !!

*P.S - It's something like this lah ah, me ain't pro in the interview thingy, so please pardon me. >_< *

Missing Jean Chiew !!

The plan was suppose to be going out w the L4D gang since it's Monday but Mr.Ma was busy as he got a show until late and i thought i didnt wanna stay out late so i didn't meet them.. or else it would be like another 11pm - 1am L4D thing which i didn't want.. cause i thought i wanted to rest early.. ( yaya.. i know.. i am still awake anyway.. )

And Cynthia was like telling me she is going to meet Jean so i thought i might as well tag along since i need dinner anyway right? and i am sure meeting jean simply means eat.. and i ain't wrong at all..

I nv get those brothers or sister who fight for family money and stuff.. brothers help each other and brothers are for life and u only have them.. I almost lost my brother years back and i always remember that the feeling of almost losing someone dear to you is a pain that words can't describe..

And talking abt rochor tau huey.. i have to share this story again.. i mean i am pretty sure lots of u heard this b4 but this is a klassic with a K.. in fact capital K.. KLASSIC !!!

many years back when David Rondy Willis and I was still in the xiao beng mode.. the gang brought me to rochor tau huay one hot afternoon.. After arriving at this famous tau huey for the 1st time.. we ordered 4 bowl of cold and cooling tau huay.. ( i already told u it was a hot afternoon.. )

then there was this two young chap with two gers in front of us.. not much older or younger then us.. we have no idea what were they thinking or trying to prove..

Himbo No.1 " The tau huey here power one.. beri nice ah.. if u know how to appreciate tau huay hor.. u must eat the hot one.. nice and sweet and smooth.. those who dunno anything then will eat cold one ah.. "

HImbo No.2 " ya lor ya lor.. those who dunno how to appreciate good food normally eat the wrong thing the wrong way.. "

Wah.. hot liao lor.. u can insult my friends.. but insult me.. NO WAY !!!

so smarty pant mr.Smith have to get back lor... waited.. and then 4 bowl of COLD tau huay arrived..

anyway.. one meal is nv enuff for Jean lor.. so we walk around looking for other interesting food.. search high and low.. and bitch abt other pple and chat.. not luck.. and then we were at cathay..
