V day surprise 2011 |
My dad was admitted to the hospital. I was very upset, stressed and scared. In a very short period of months, I have been visiting the hospital so often started with my brother, my nephew, my uncle and now my dad. The stress was overwhelming especially when I heard the news through my auntie and my sister-in-law. I wasn't the 1st person my mum called to inform when this happened. I was very worried and unhappy about this. I stressed myself up worrying that "people" will yak and say that I did not pay attention to my parents since I shifted out, people might say that I am not being a responsible son and lots of negative thoughts hit me within that short period. Above all, my mum told me it's okay not to visit my dad cause the doctor have yet to attend to him and it is really nothing major nor anything I can do and I was in a dilemma if I should go home and cook together with my wife and celebrate our 1st married and 1st "own-a-place" romantic dinner.
At this moment the wife text-ed me and after a few text exchanged she told me we should visit our dad and came to my office and picked me up. We went and visit my dad to make sure all is fine before heading home.
In the end we still have our awesome steak that the wife prepared and a very special yu sheng for 2! It's kinda funny but we enjoyed it!
There ain't any big bang romantic celebration, no wine and dine, no violinist nor fire works. All I had was a visit to the hospital, simple dinner and couch potato time with the wife. It's the best Valentine's Day isn't it? To have someone there for you even when you are in trouble, even when you have nothing. Everyone will be with you when you have it all but how many will be there with you when you have nothing but trouble?
This is the epic story of my 2013 Valentine's Day, I hope you had a great one too.
Mr.Smith, no sexy time but it's all good.
