I have always been a "gamer" since a very young age. One of the very first games that I got introduced to by my brother was none other than this:
I am sure you have played it before.
|
The reason why I added the "" on the word gamer is because I like the game but I never am too good at any game. This is probably due to my lack of patience to really master any game. On top of hand held, the very first console game that my brother managed to get my mum to get for us was this:
YAY!
|
Such games were very expensive then and although we had a Nintendo, super mario was our only game for the longest time and of course without saying this was the only game that I am very good(still, and i take pride in it) with. We know every secret at each corner and we could complete the game with just 1 single life. And yes, without the help of internet walk through.
In a typical game setting, there will always be a victim and hero and a villain. From the evolution of handheld games to 8bit Nintendo to 16bit sega and all the way till our current 3D gaming, nothing changed.
Every kid wants to be the hero cause that is how we win a game but how does a villain feel about this?
Wreck-it-Ralph!
Walt Disney Animation Studios and Emmy®-winning director Rich Moore(TV’s “The Simpsons,” “Futurama”) take moviegoers on a hilarious, arcade-game-hopping journey in “Wreck-It Ralph.” Ralph (voice of John C. Reilly, “Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby,” “Step Brothers”)
is tired of being overshadowed by Fix-It Felix (voice of Jack McBrayer, “30 Rock”), the “good guy” star of their game who always gets to save the day. But after decades doing the same thing and seeing all the glory goes to Felix, Ralph decides he’s tired of playing the role of a bad guy. He takes matters into his own massive hands and sets off on a game-hopping journey across the arcade through every generation of video games to prove he’s got what it takes to be a hero.
On his quest, he meets the tough-as-nails Sergeant Calhoun (voice of Jane Lynch, TV’s “Glee”) from the first-person action game Hero’s Duty. But it’s the feisty misfit Vanellope von Schweetz (voice of Sarah Silverman, “The Sarah Silverman Program”) from the candy-coated cart racing game, Sugar Rush, whose world is threatened when Ralph accidentally unleashes a deadly enemy that threatens the entire arcade. Will Ralph realize his dream and save the day before it’s too late? “Wreck-It Ralph”
crashes onto the big screen on December 20, 2012, in Disney Digital 3D™in select theaters.
So on 9th December, Ralph “came alive” for the Singapore fans. Cyndi and I went on a cosplaying rampage as Ralph and Vanellope! I am Ralph obviously. :P We visited two of Singapore largest scale gaming and cosplay events: The License2Play and EOY Cosplay Festival!
This is the 1st time in my life that I am the skinnier version of something else.
