Twitter - Why Did I Follow You ?

Twitter - I was actually on Twitter back in year 2008 but the account was totally left alone until few months back. The reason I didn't use it was simply because I have no idea what to do with it and also who to follow. Did you guys felt the same when you first started off on twitter ? I realize that there are people who follow me on Twitter and I always ask myself the question "why did they follow me?". It's not that I do not like to be followed in fact I like to have more followers but I guess it's just the "Curious George" in me. So in case you are just as curious, I am going to reveal why I follow those tweeps on my following list.

The Celebrities

I follow you guys simply because you guys are famous, simply because your accounts are verified and I wish to know more about you but of course I do not follow ALL the celebrities.

The "Celebrity" Bloggers

It's a very simple mind set when I 1st get on Twitter, I assume that popular bloggers should be on micro blogging as well, thus I just do a simple search and Tar dar.

The Friends

Oh ? You are on twitter too ? let me follow you. I follow this group of people even if their acct is inactive simply cause I know them in real life. Colleagues, School Mates.

The "Tweetup"

I meet you in one of the recent events and we talk a bit, we got a beer and we should keep in touch.

The "Good Morning List"

GD AM @AAAA @BBBB @CCCC @DDDD , something very common you see everyday and I'll follow you if you are on the same list as me cause one thing for sure you are not a bot and it's fun to meet new people

The "In the same conversation"

Pretty much like the above but we kinda get involve in a same conversation. I will pretty much follow you.

The "RT-ed"

You are funny, you are witty in the 140-characters world and multi of tweeps are RT-ing you and I thought you are worth following too !

The "Follow Me 1st"

I like to meet new people and if you follow me and I'm pretty sure you are not a bot and I'll just follow back.

The Brand

As a person who believes in social marketing, I support social marketing too, if you are a brand and you are interactive and you give away freebies.. YES I WILL FOLLOW YOU !!

The "Nice Display Pic"

As shallow as it sounds,as basic as it is, visual, yes, I follow you because you display pic is showing some cleavage very pretty and well taken.

I am sure everyone has their own "rules" when it comes to following somebody and the above are just mine. I am just talking about following here, I could, I might talk about "Why I unfollow you" and "Why I didn't follow you" in the future too. So what's your "rules" when it comes to following tweeps ?

P.S - If you guys are wondering if I miss out #FF/#FollowFriday, I don't really follow people during #FollowFriday. = )
