HELLO EVERYONE!!! GUESS WHAT? I'M STILL ALIVE!!!!

December has been a crazy month. I've been traveling, shooting a lot for work, and you know, Christmas, so there were lots of meet-ups and parties. I've been wanting to blog but I just didn't manage to find time. I'm so sorry to all my make-believe readers. I'm glad some of you still did not abandon this space.

Despite putting on all the holiday weight, I still think I look quite good in this series of OOTDs without photoshopping my body. LOL.

On top of this being just an OOTD post, here's a fun fact about traveling with toy gun.

TOY GUNS ARE NOT ALLOWED IN YOUR HAND-CARRY LUGGAGE. Obviously they do not want you to bring a gun onboard right? So, always remember to put it into your check-in luggage. HOWEVER, it's not 100% given that the TSA officer on duty will allow it. So erm... FINGERS CROSSED. GOOD LUCK!

Go BIG or go lean?

Apr 2016 vs Nov 2017 (More than 18 months and no new pose meh? #ModelFail) 

So I was looking through some of my old photos. Not like 10 year ago old but pretty much just over a year ago. I was in my cardio-and-diet-phase and I didn't realise I was so "skinny" as compared to now. Not your conventional skinny but it's considered skinny to me. I mean I broke my ankle in December and I put on a lot of weight. Because of that, I can no longer do long distance running and I also started on very bad eating habits. So I got myself a personal trainer and started training. I mean all these while I've hit the gym but this new trainer of mine trains me differently. And also my eating habits did not change and very quickly I found myself rather bulky now. Gyming got me my shoulders, chest, and biceps but it didn't help me much with my belly cause of my  eating. Thankfully I've Dr. Kellyn and her amazing fat freeze!

I'm not like Hulk big but everyone who haven't seen me awhile would just molest my chest and ask me what happened as if I gone through puberty like a teenage girl. Lest the fact that people don't go around touching teenage girls. I think. I hope.

Not sure how good you guys are with photo hunt but you will notice I had no shoulders at all in 2016 as compared to now. If the above picture doesn't show you enough, here's a picture from Sept 2016.

I thought I look really tiny here. Especially my shoulders.

I actually can't decide if I like how I look now or how I look then.

Accessorising Basic Outfits with SmartBuyGlasses

Dressing up is really a pain for some people especially when you get frequent invites to events. #GirlBoss once told me that an outfit can only appear twice max on Instagram. If it appears more than once, it means that it has been worn too often. Of course, that was before she got pregnant and ran out of outfit ideas LOL.

If you are a reader who follows my IG religiously looking at all my photos with that same face and poses, you will notice that my outfits are almost the same but not exactly the same either. (Like what my Thai business partners say – same same but different.)

My fashion mantra? Mix and match. As a man, we do not have much options when it comes to handbags, heels, 10,000  types of hair accessories or rings and necklaces but that doesn't mean that we have to look boring.

My go-to outfit staples are my Uniqlo $7.90 t-shirt (lol for real!) and jeans/pants from Uniqlo which is usually pretty affordable as well.

Let Mr. Smith teach you how to accessorise your basic tees and still stand out in the crowd.

We should not judge a book by its cover but I do judge people by their footwear. I always believe that there should be a pair of shoes for every occasions. One should not just have a pair of running shoes and wear it with everything. I once actually stopped my campmate from going out with us cause he insisted on wearing his army-issued running shoes. LOL. Also, I'm a US size 13 and if I can get shoes you guys can too.

I'm not a big spender when it comes to timepieces. I think it is okay if it's a few hundred dollars - a thousand maybe but spending five digits on a watch is a no no for me. A good timepiece is pretty much an accessory to me and I'm not exactly the most careful person when it comes to taking care of my belongings, so I don't think I'm going to get a really expensive watch any time soon. I actually got this from the in-flight shopping catalogue on one of the trips I took recently.

I know Singapore is mad hot but I actually have a lot of jackets. From hoodies to leather jackets, you name it and I pretty much have it. It's almost like the soul of my outfit most of the days if I'm heading to events or meetings. You can either hold it on your hand as an accessory, put it on to look smart or even offer it to any lady if she's feeling cold. See, 1 stone, 3 birds. Very very high returns.

No one should ever step out of the house without a pair of sunglasses when you are living in sunny  Singapore. Besides the obvious reason that you need to protect your eyes, a good pair of sunglasses works very well as an accessory too!

Those Location T-shirts

It has been awhile since I did a proper OOTD blog post. I mean I don't do it A LOT. In fact I think I only did it once? 

If you are a shopaholic fashionista like myself, you would have noticed that there are a lot of these t-shirts out there that has locations printed on them. Usually cool places like New York, Los Angeles, USA, Las Vegas, etc etc. 

If you haven't seen any of them from places like ZARA, Cotton On, HnM etc, your t-shirt probably says "Under The Rock".

Picking up my 1st Dr. Martens, can't say enough how happy I was. (Okay fine, I didn't really look THAT happy but trust me, I was/am happy about my new boots) .

These new Dr Marts feelss so good! Not only were they pretty but it feels very comfy when I bought it with their Dr Marts Socks. I'm still trying to figure out how best I can pull it off though, Should I tuck in my jeans or not?


Not exactly the same set of pictures with the same set of outfit but I'm sharing this HnM Beckham modern essential here for your reference of how the boots look like with the pants tuck out of my boots.

Anyway, I love these location t-shirt to be honest. It's some sort basic but at the same time it still gives a touch to the t-shirt instead of slapping mega huge cartoon or a very big S logo on it. I mean if it's not the size we are trying to indicate, the "S" serves no purpose. (nor give you super power_)

What makes location T-shirt so cool that it got every brand doing it? Is it a case of brands being FOMO or a fact that people really like these t-shirts with locations? Are they the born and breed locals who buys them or the pretentious aspirational full time travellers buying them to shoot OOTD?

Am I a fashion blogger yet?

It's actually very embarrassing when we go into a new pitch showing clients some of the influencers we work closely with and the question thrown back at us was, 

"Smith, how come don't have your picture? Are you not going to blog about us? Or are you throwing your own service Free of Charge har?" 

I mean I do not go around publicizing that I am an "influencer" but I guess clients just know for some reasons. I mean not like I am Xiaxue or my blog has over 1 million clicks every month, you know what I mean? 

In fact I've never labelled myself as an "influencer" or "blogger". I started this space to rant and share my daily (okay, not so daily because I got lazy) happenings and I guess I just got lucky that it has gotten some attention over the years.

In fact I always felt very embarrassed when we attend events and they give us media tag saying "blogger" or they introduces me as "award winning blogger". It's not because I'm embarrassed to be labelled as a blogger but simply because I am really doing this as a form of hobby, I don't take nice pictures or write exceptionally well. I really put in very little effort to manage this space as compared to many "blogger-blogger" out there who drop their title as an influencer or founder of their blog more often than me dropping my pants over the last 10months. (If you get what I mean.) 

I always feel that I'm a very lucky person. #Blessed (yuck). I'm neither the smartest person around nor the most hardworking but I (think I) am lucky. I meet people in life along the way that help me a lot. Like how my current business partners who brings me places and put me on platform at work that I never thought I would. 

And the newest addition has to be the guys who have been teaching me how to shoot as well as getting me all comfortable in front of the camera as well. And yeah, so I now do OOTD post as well!

If you guys have been reading this space for the past 11 years (WOW!), you guys would know that this space never have/had anything useful or important. In fact I always have this problem when people ask me what I blog about and expect a typical answer such as food, tech, beauty or certain type of blogger. (no offense to any of you guys out there. you go tiger!) The problem with being a certain type of blogger is that you have to be really good in a single subject that makes you the opinion leader. Mr.Smith here is a jack of "most trade" and a master of none. oops. This space is really just a personal space! (okay lah, or you guys like the title "lifestyle blogger" for anyone who blogs general stuff lor) 

Pants are from Uniqlo. Very comfy and cheap. LOL

This space to be honest is really not one that is set up with much calculated content strategy or media plan. (HAHA! And one of the businesses I run is a social media agency. Irony!) Most of the actions taken were seriously more of an afterthought or in fact "lackofthought".

But I guess one thing that I do pretty well is trying to be funny! I said TRY! doesn't mean I am good at it lah.
