Kimba 2, exactly 2 months ago. 7th April 2015 |
After two months, we managed to nurse him back into health and beauty and we decided to put him up for adoption. This experience is really very wonderful and yet sad at the same time. We are very happy to see that we have nurse a cat back into health and found him a new home but at the same time, we did build a little bond and it is saddening to leave someone with a bond.
To make things harder, he is so manja and pretty.

I really hope that kimba will be happy at his new place. Although we might never know his history or even future as we slowly drift apart with his new parents, this 2 months would be a memory for us to keep. Although he might not remember us, we will always remember his loud MEOW from behind closed doors as well as how he angrily hissed at the other cats and dominated them. haha.

I'm really impressed with all the fosters out there. Being able to show and shower them all the love they need while being with them and at the same time being able to let go and truly be happy about them finding a new home.

A job of a re-homer or foster is no easy job. It was quite an experience for us. We had to make different arrangement at home to keep him and also paying certain medical bill which was also a small part that we didn't mind. We did not ask for an adoption fee from the new family because we rescued Kimba out of our own will and brought him to the doctor based on our own call and we felt that it doesn't make sense to charge the other party. We ain't selling pets here since we are doing it as a one off thing and not running a cat rescue team with high upkeep.
We had to quarantine it to make sure he ain't sick in the beginning so that he will not spread anything to the team at home. Of course without saying, wash him, clean him, play with him and get scratched by him when we accidentally touched certain wrong spot. We were lucky as Kimba seems to have no food allergy. We feed him with some food from our own cats and monitor for reaction. He ate very slowly and almost didn't want the food at the beginning but he was probably just wary but very quickly he started eating regularly and with a growing appetite.
Besides that we also attempted to look for its owner on varies cat lovers pages, blog about it and get some help. We only decide if we should put it up for adoption when nobody came forward. We ain't pro in being a foster but we try our best.

Adopt Not Shop
I would also like to take this chance to do a few shout outs. Adopt not shop, we do not know what is the condition like at puppy and kitten mill so always always adopt. There are many cats and dogs out there that needs a home. If you are a true animal lover they are all equal. There is no need to spend hundreds and thousands of dollars to pay millers and worst, some illegal millers.
My favourite pic of Kimba Manja-ing me while I was playing game. This was him few days at my place. Super connected. |
If you can, do check out pages like LuvKuching or CatWelfare Society. Although I can't commit my time to these rescue group, I will always try my best to contribute one off donation or help and shout out whenever I can. I always believe in doing within your means.
Since I am at this. I would also like to say:
DO NOT EAT DOG/CAT MEAT!
DO NOT ABUSE ANIMAL!
DO NOT ADOPT OR BUY ANIMAL ON IMPULSE!
ANIMALS ARE LIVES TOO!
DO NOT ABANDON YOUR PETS!
Thank you for reading and Kimba, take care and until next time! :') MEOW!!!!
