You know when you were younger and you watch TV and guys as "working adult" has so much in common? They go to work, they make money, wear suit, get in love, get married, get into trouble and that's about it. They are "cool" people and they do adult things and that's what I thought it meant to be an adult. You talk about stock market, properties and maybe baby making.
It's all about the MONEY! |
1. Wearing T-shirt and Berms to work
Any given day without important meeting... This is how I look. |
2. Watching Cartoon and still loving it
Let's get serious. We all have our childhood favourite cartoon but it's kinda weird that my childhood favourite are still my favourite.
3. Going to Club and get drunk
I can't even remember which year was this. Was it even my birthday? |
4. Cracking silly jokes that I heard from my high school days
Despite the fact that even I can't laugh at my own jokes. Thank you guys for always laughing at my lousy jokes.
Example:
At a restaurant:
"你叫什么?“
”鸡饭lor"
"eh, hello 鸡饭 , 我叫Smith. "
#ThisShitNeverGetsOld
5. Celebrating "Not-a-father's day". Yes, it is a thing
While many of my peers are already parents, some are even parents to 2 or 3, I am still having fun running around, drinking, working, having fun and not ready to settle down. I know I would 1 day, (maybe) but I really don't know when I will be really ready for this. I thought I should be ready by 30 but... nope.
6. Quoting TV Shows
Self explanatory, see point 5.
7. Enjoy eating Ice Cream
You guys remember Eye Scream |
8. Buying Toys
And it's not even adult toys. LOL
9. Playing Toys
I mean I finally suited up but I'm still holding a bear and toy gun.. so.. erm.. |
10. Sleeping with Toys (still not sex type.)
Every night we also threesome de leh. LOL.
11. Buying a happy meal at Macdonald's
I'm loving it!
12. Spending too much time online
Like my banker-wanker friends, or lawyer or whoever, they really don't have much time to spare less say be on the internet. That makes them feel kinda adult-ish but I really spend so much time online and it makes me feel really really young.
13. Spending too much time on online games
Just look at that.
14. Spending too much time on video games
How good is a smart phone when you don't have Pokemon on it. Right?
15. Spending too much time with my mum like a baby boy
Your friendly neighbourhood no.1 mummy's boy. The big guy that every knows at the market because I have to visit my mum when she was working there because I was too bored home alone. LOL.
16. LASER TAG
Because LASER TAG! YA YA YA YA YA!!
17. Blogging. It's a thing for teenage girls right?
Not going to offend anyone here so let google do the job. Anyone familiar? |
18. Halloween Parties (or any form of silly costumes)
My Bro Barney only has 1 rule and that is to suit up only in expensive suits unless the girl you are costume suiting up for is hot.
19. Taking fucking selfies and any other stupid photos
Selfie - Checked. Stupid - Checked.
20. Talking about sex
Base on the fact that 1 starts to have sex at a legal age of 18 and doing it as minimum as once a week there are 52 weeks and after 12 years - that is 624 times of sex. Are we mature enough to just do it and not talk about it like it's even funny? Nope, i guess not. It is still funny. *sniggle*
21. Watching Porn
The discovery of internet and porn cums hand in hand and we all know that goes way back and by now I believe I've watch more porn than Korean Drama and Japan Drama combined but... ok.. BRB.
22. Scolding Vulgar
Can you imagine your primary school teacher scolding vulgar when they ask you not to do it because it's bad? So that's the idea I get. Adults are mature enough to express themselves and knn ccb ain't what they do. I was wrong, because that is exactly what they do and we too, still do. Fact is that all the rich ass business man I've met? We curse like sailor. To be honest, I haven't really met a sailor. HAHA.
23. Listening to the same record from the same band from years ago
We always imagined what will new music be like when we were young but the fact is the older stuff are always better isn't it.
24. Have no idea what is the red wine I just drank
Off a mug. WADDUP!
25. Have a online Hater
To be honest, I didn't see this coming. I thought I was too old for it but it happened. I guess that's the price to pay when you put yourself on the internet and people just ain't too happy about you. I guess I just can't satisfy everyone. This incident however did make me feel 14 again.
26. Pulling off the centre parting hair
Pulling it off.
27. Being really cocky
One of my biggest problem. The one which is both my strength and weakness. Full of confidence and full of myself and I am so okay with it. People always say you will mellow down a little as age comes but I guess 30 is still young to me. That explains why I got a hater maybe?
28. Still overweight
I fucking WAS Skinny. 9 yrs ago |
29. Getting out of the house with a unpresentable hair and think it's fine
Aiya... 随便啦!!! Also not say like if I comb my hair I will become yandao right?
30. Still thinking about "the future"
The hard truth... The truth that time is running up. Remember how we like to say "When I grow up.. I want to blah blah blah" but the fact is at the age of 30, your future is NOW. Nothing is going to happen if you ain't gonna do anything about it now. You are no longer a teen and the age between 20 - 30 where you encounter a quater life crisis and cry out loud about how unfair life has been to you is over. At age of 30 you need to stop thinking about the future and should already be executing part of "the future" plan. If you are not even near, I guess you have to be ready to make some changes to your life. That's a bad habit. Every night before I sleep, I still think about my alternate future. Becoming a super hero because I walk pass an antique shop that sells me a weird item out of no where. Going overseas and falling down the cliff and meet a long lost kungfu master or even striking TOTO and how my life changed overnight. Wake up Smith. Those dreams ain't gonna bring you anywhere.
But...
That is what makes me special. The kid in me never dies. That's why I am crazy, that's why I am fun (or at least to me) and that's why I am so candid. I wouldn't say I have got everything under my feet but I would say my life ain't at a dead-end either. I have a good career and family. Regardless of what age you are, I guess the most important is to be able to do things you can answer. Every action has consequences and what matters the most is that you are ready for it. Live life without regret regardless of age, make sure you only get wiser every year and not make the same mistake. I am no saint, I make mistakes, some I learnt some I don't and like I always say, I believe I am a very blessed and lucky person because some of the 2nd chances I was given would never happened to others. I guess I did get the longer side of the stick more often than not.
Thank you everyone for your wishes, thank you everyone for allowing me to be who I am, to be the comfortable and candid Smith. Allows me to say the shit I said and stupid things I do. Your tolerance and patience is definitely appreciated.
Thank you and have a Happy Smith Day. Trust me, it is a thing.
P.S. Last year, I dedicated my birthday wish to my friend Ming Hao who was fighting cancer and this year he is all well! So this year I shall use the wish for my career and hope that everything will be smooth sailing for MeGuideU.com!
