I've always wanted to get a package tattoo sleeve or two like the ones Beckham does. What stopped me? Simply because I am no celebrity, NBA player, Hip Hop star or "Bad guy". Simply because I am a normal office worker and it seems to be that people still judges people with tattoos. A stigma that still sticks in people's head - having tattoo makes you a "bad person" and you ain't gonna get a proper job. Or so they said.
How did we ended up where we are today where there is this stigma that we are "bad guy" cause we got inked. Not too sure where went wrong along the line of this art with a long historical background. Maybe it was the Yazuka or more lightly it was the Chinese secret society when they first came to Singapore. The need of identity, sticking together watching each other's back to make sure they didn't get bullied.

Is that so or is it simply what the media is showing? The whole bad boy image when you have tattoos?
It is obvious that I disagree with this statement considering the fact that I love tattoos and I have tattoos.
Really, what is bad about Tattoo? |
So why am I so troubled about this? The pain, the agony of why people is judging tattoos. It sure isn't something everyone can do and anyone can just pickup. To me it's an art, it's something that I use to express myself, something that tells a story, symbolises something and reminds me of something. Something very dear that I want to keep it with me and what is wrong with doing that? We ain't in the 1940s.
Depp says it well and says it right. |
It might be me, it might be the society and it might be the people around me, I don't know. I know I want one but I guess I'm just not ready or I'm not wanting it THAT badly as of now because I know myself. If I want it, I will do it and nobody can stop me.
Signing off with this Song by Bon Jovi - Good guys don't always wear white. Having ink doesn't make you bad and not having it doesn't makes you good either. - DON'T JUDGE.
"Just because I don't look like you, talk like you, think like you
Judge and jury, a hangman's noose;I see them in your eyes...
Good guys don't always wear white
