Twitter - and their users.

After being an active user on the twitter for a few months, I would say I have benefited much in many ways such as meeting new people and learning new things about this technology. Other than meeting new people and learning new things, I have also notice that although there are a lot of users on twitter but generally there are just a few types of them. Let me do this very daring assumption here and I hope I do not offended anyone here. It's all for the fun of it !

The "diva"

They follow close to no one and gets lots of followers. Ask a question and ignore people's replies unless you are another "diva". This group of users are mostly "popular" bloggers or celebrity in a way or the other.

The "I-follow-you-and-you-better-follow-me-back-or-else"

As the name suggest and it ends with "I-will-unfollow-you."

The RT-hero

@xxxxx says this, @yyyyy says that. hey what about you ? say something !

The Over Friendly

They basically follow everyone else and talks to everyone and you can easily identify them. They have 3 times the number of following vs followers

The Social Animal

They are at every tweetup possible and you can identify them easily as their handle appear in most of the conversation you are following on your timeline. Their numbers of following and followers are most of the time balanced.

The "mIRC"

No, not the Hi intro please but this group of users basically do not log into MSN, mIRC or other IM but uses the timeline as IM.

The "What are blogs? "

140 char are too short no doubt, but they do their math and they twit in 140 x 10 and uses it as a blog post.

The "Give Me The Attention"

They have 140 characters but they mostly use less than 20 of them and hope that people ask them what happen ? Sample Twit - " I feel like dying now"

The "I am the best"

Remember when twitter account ask you for a one liner description about yourself ? "Model, social media guru, marketeer, free lance photographer, deejay,journalist,artist,fashion guru" wooo !

The Brand

Small and big businesses who uses twitter for branding, awareness or even help desk. Some shares the promotion and new product while some are just there to get flamed.

The Social Media "Guru"

- Twits about nothing else other than how important Twitter, Facebook and other social media tools are to everyone else, but the very true fact is they are just doing the self fulfilling prophecy by RT-ing the same article 50 times a day to make everyone else buy it.

The Britneys.

I suppose you are not on twitter if you have no idea who they are.

The above groupings are purely done base on my daring assumption and for the fun of it. Can you identify which type of twitter users are you on my list or did I miss you out ?
