Appreciation

Can one do things for one or for something without being felt appreciated for a long period of time?

be it in a relationship.. in a friendship.. in work.. or to the society??

how true or rather how hypocrite is it when one say they do not expect appreciation in anyway? and how many are those that truly feel the meaning of passion and love..

In my context.. i believe one can only ask for ZERO return when their passion n love for one thing is max.. but still i believe when passion n love is max it means u do get ur appreciation back.. but in another form.. - Satisfaction..

So if Satisfaction is a kind of return which make one happy.. is this situation still consider under no-return??

I do voluntery work for XXX society.. i get zero pay.. but i am happy cause i know i am helping the needy and on the other hand i get to meet more pple..

happiness and meeting more pple is a kind of return in this way??

so basically how i look at it.. if u are doing something and u dun get happiness and neither do u get physical return ( example like : money , sex , food ) will u still do it?? even if u force urself or rather convince urself to do it.. how long can it goes on for??
