Artbox Singapore

Not sure if this is Artbox Singapore or Chinese New Year event at Chinatown.

It's Good Friday, what should we do? Why not let's go to Artbox Singapore! 

I would be very surprised if you have no clue what Artbox Singapore is because the last I checked the whole of Singapore was there. 

It's very unlike me to visit such events because I'm really not into crowds and considering how often I visit Bangkok, it's really silly of me to agree to be there. What was I thinking? No idea to be honest. LOL I just thought it would be fun to bring the son and wife out with my friends.

The madness hit us even before we reached the main event area at 12A Bayfront Ave Singapore 018970. The road was all jammed up. We drove around quite a bit before we managed to get a parking lot at MBFC Tower 2. It felt almost like zombie apocalypse. Everyone was rushing into the lift. Good news is that MBFC's carpark charges per entry on weekends. I was there at 5pm thereabout and all the lots were already almost all taken up.  

As you can see from the very first picture, it's almost impossible to shop properly at the event. It's packed neck to neck and there isn't any crowd control. In fact, there wasn't even a proper entrance, anyone can just cut in anywhere from any side of the event area. 

I'm pretty sure this crowd is way bigger than what the organiser expected. I am quite curious if this is even approved though. From my experience from events planning and working in building management, your total event area : number of exits : number of people : and the walkway's space's ratio is very very important. If the ratio is not calculated properly, it is a potential hazard for everyone especially if say there is a fire. It will very much cause a crazy stampede. 

Then again, I might just be pulling off a typical paranoid Singaporean comment. But better be safe than sorry right? 

The experience was bad because of the crazy crowd but I have give it to the organiser. The whole event was really almost identical to Bangkok's. You can get all the food and stuff but probably cleaner and erm longer queue. 

The only item we bought. Funny thing is that this drink is actually very easily accessible throughout the year in Singapore. We just had to buy something since we are already there right! Haha. 

#Protip - they do accept nets. 

Verdict - 

Is it really very much like Thailand? - Yes. 

Is it worth visiting? No. The crowd really makes it not worth it. I rather you just buy a ticket and fly to Thailand since it's so affordable these days. 

However, we did have a lot of fun with Jon and Xinyi.  Seth was so well behaved. Despite the crazy crowd he was having a lot of fun waving at girls. I'm not kidding, the ladies were all waving at him and saying he is cute. What did he do? Shamelessly waving back and smiling to everyone. I wonder who he got that from. Such a shameless slut. LOL. 

Smith, bringing Bangkok to you? Nah, I think it's still easier to visit Bangkok.

Marina Bay Sands Hotel Stay !

Thanks to my buddy @keongsterz ( or rather the parents), we manage to get a room ( like literally not sexually) at Marina Bay Sands.

The place is like Legend.. wait for it.. dary !!

It is seriously a cool place and sad thing was I didn't charge my camera and even my iPhone was flat. I only manage to capture this amount of pictures.

The pool is way too good ! and the bed is really shiok to slp.. and the best thing about this place is the view !!!! Yes.. I cant wait for all the construction around to be ready.. it would be even bettttter ~~~

Happy Halloween 2009

Halloween has always been an event of the year for me. After being a "professional" mascot from Santa Claus to Jason from Friday the 13th to God Of Fortune for various events, mascotting is more than just wearing costume and walking around, it is about how we protrait the image of the certain character.

We didn't make it to Zouk this year as the peeps felt that the que is too much a trouble and neither did we go to any other clubs, we decided to hit the heart landers instead.

We gathered @ @seraphina22 's place for the preparation.

We were all ready to go and terrorise the heartlanders of Tampines !!

1st Stop - Frolick @ Tampines 1 !! The girls were so Cute and Pretty - not my main point happy and excited to see us when we went near the shop as they were giving away free cup B yogurt for the dressed up !





And guess who I bump into ?



Tse Yang !! Surprise he actualy recongise me lor.. lolx ~





Nom Nom ~

Many peeps regardless of young or old, male or female were pretty shock,happy,flabbergasted,glad,surprise to see the whole group of us parading in this quite little heartland area of Tampines.

Next Stop - Swensen's @ Tampines Mall for Dindin

And there were like this group of peeps who took photo with us, and they took like 5 or 6 pictures but they took almost like forever !

And even the Swensens' staff took some pictures with us, tagline " I am so dying to go swensens' "



We finish off the party by doing a final parade from Tampines Mall's Starbucks to Century Square's Coffee Bean and then to Macdonalds' beside CPF Tampines. The faces of Tampines was priceless. Some were like giggling and chatting about talking pictures with us but none was daring enough to do it. Welcome to Singapore !

It was really fun but I just wish we went to places with even more people or more people would dare to come up and interact with us !!

Mr.Smith, I hope that the frolick girls still recongise us the next time we visit.. = P

How Long Can I Stand ??

Got a quickie lunch and uploaded yesterday's picture, and now it's time for my account on standing sushi ! !

I first came across on Standing Sushi on a mag - 8 days if my memory didn't fail me and the 1st impress i had was oh whatever, it's just another sushi shop. What change my mind to give it a try was actually because of twitter, I saw quite a handful of the peeps twitting about the sushibar and not only that, the sushi bar was twitting too ! They were pretty prompt on all the twit and to me - a business which uses social media is interesting enough for me to give it a try ! Moreover I saw the conversation between nadnut and daintyflair on the UOB card 1 for 1, so what the hell was I waiting for ~~

But then after that I realize that I made a mistake on the 1 for 1, it's not for ala carte, it's only for the "chef recommendation" which is a 8 course meal thing, it is sort of like supper club where you just pay this amount of money and the chef will do up some stuff according to your preference. And you will need to call in 1-2 days before hand for them to get ready your menu !



Here I am @ OUB Centre, full of memories, done a few events for them, roving, fashion show, campaigns.. BLAH ~ Emotionally attached to all my client.. = P



The bar when it was empty..And yes, they "serve" chairs during dinner, after along day at work, take a break, take a seat.

And of course.. the food !! I got a feeling i ate more fish last nite den i would have eaten in the whole month..



My 1st order before the rest arrive.. 1 word - FRESH ! it feels so damm different from those prepacked when the seaweed and rice turns sticky.. the salmon skin was damm crispy !



Recommendation by the hot waitress which i felt she look like Debbie wong.. she kept asking all of our name but nv self intro.. = X



salmon roll !! this is those roll where u can really feel the presence of the fish being in the roll..



this is actually my 2nd plate of sashimi, the 1st plate disappear before i could take pictures.. it's thick, it's fresh, it's those sashimi where u put in ur mouth and u can feel the meaning of happiness ~~

My conclusion about this place :

Good ambiance, good concept, good food, nice pple, good twitter account(well managed) but abit too steep for poor worker like me ! But it's really value for money ! There is no such things as cheap and very good ! hahaha..

Total Damage for the above + 2 drinks : $43.55 !

We did not want to call it a day that early since it has been some time since we last hang out, we pick a place to hang around and chat and Cafe Cartel was the choice since it have the 50% off cakes after 9pm!

To our disappointment, there were no nice cakes left. We ended up on milk shake coffee and of course...
