Photodiary - Influencer Seth in the making.

Smithankyou     2/15/2019 01:07:00 PM     hong kong, instagram, seth, travel     No comments

This is the 3rd and last part of our family trip which happened last December. I promise. lol.

If you have the habit of following influencers on Instagram, you would noticed that Hong Kong is actually a rather Instagrammable place. Given my line of work and my "fake life" on Instagram, I'm not going to give it a miss this time.

Since I'm not visiting Hong Kong with some Instagram Babes, my son would be my subject. He ain't exactly easy to shoot these days. We really had to play with him and get him into the mood. I'm actually kinda happy with these pictures myself.

- Okay bye -

Protips - Hong Kong Disneyland with Baby Seth.

Smithankyou     1/25/2019 08:30:00 AM     disneyland, hong kong, Sethankyou, travel     4 comments

I've been to Hong Kong Disneyland multiple times over the years. Once with colleagues, another with the wife while we were dating some ten years ago, once with girlboss, but this is the very first time I've visited with a child. More specifically, my very own child.

The experience was really different. I mean we definitely had more fun despite not being able to take as many rides. As cliche as it sounds, seeing the smile on my son's face made me really really happy.

He had snacks, watch live performances, had more snacks, got some toys (some can be an understatement when the father is a big toy fanatic), had more snacks, and he got his favourite bubble gun! It has been over a month since our return and he is still trying his luck with, "Papa, we go Hong Kong Disney again? I can eat popcorn. See Mickey Mouse. Take Aeroplane."

 He really really wanted that.

I mean we had fun for sure but it's not that easy traveling with a child after all. So I'm gonna share some tips. You are welcome.

1. Disney Hotel

Hong Kong Disneyland is relatively smaller as compared to its counterparts but a child's stamina is still relatively limited when it comes to them walking around the park. We did considered quite a bit before making this decision because it's not exactly cheap. Well, on hindsight we have no regrets. With the hotel located so near to the park, we actually managed to go back for a break in the middle of the day just to make sure lil Seth doesn't get tired out and grouchy before all the parades.

2. Two days pass

The park might seems small to you when you are 1.7m tall (average height lah, I'm 1.8m pls.) but it's not exactly the case for the 2yrs old. The walk seems longer, meal time was longer, plus every little details seem really cool to him and we had to stop at almost every corner for him to check it out. Not to forget, the nap we Seth took. 1 day just seems way too short to complete the park. This too was a good call. Well done Wife.

3. Disneyland Stroller Rental

"Should we bring our own stroller to Hong Kong?"

"Nah, I don't think so. Hong Kong ain't exactly stroller friendly."

"What about Disneyland?"

"I think we can get a rental at a pretty decent price over at Disneyland."

Once again, thanks to the wife's strange observation skill which she usually lacks in day-to-day life, we managed to score a stroller for Seth. I mean I was there for 3 other times but I've never noticed things like this. I mean why would I since I've never needed one right?

It's not like we put him in all the time but it is really good for him to have an option between taking a seat or having the freedom of running around the park. It's a lot easier for us as well so we do not need to be carrying him around all the time.

And nope, he doesn't want to be tula-ed around anymore. He said, and I quote, "Papa, Tula is for babies. I'm a big boy now." #okaycan

4. Send Help

It's always good to have an extra pair of hand. Friends, family, or anyone. I take the last one back, don't try anyone, strangers overseas is not exactly ideal. Thanks to these two for tagging along. They sure did help us a lot throughout the trip especially with taking care of Seth. Seth had so much fun with these two he literally cried the moment we part ways after the trip at Changi airport.

The trip to disneyland was a lot more enjoyable than I imagined. I was having doubts considering the fact that I've been to disneyland so many times but I'm really glad my wife convinced me to make this trip.

Even the usually uptight wife let her hair down and had much fun!

Seth, "We go back to Hong Kong okay? Can we go Hong Kong tomorrow?"

Me, "No."

Seth, "Why?"

Me, "Because I need to work."

Seth, "Why?"

Me, "Because I need to earn money."

Seth, "So we can go Hong Kong again?"

Me, "Ya."

Seth, "So we go Hong Kong tomorrow?"

Me, "..."

Traveling in Hong Kong - OZO Wesley Hong Kong

Smithankyou     1/17/2019 11:54:00 AM     hong kong, hotel, Ozo Wesley Hong Kong, travel     No comments

"Hong Kong will always be special."

It was the time of the year again where I visit Hong Kong. This is probably my 3rd trip in the last 4 years. I know it's not exactly a lot considering some people might be flying there every week for work. But hey, I love Hong Kong and nothing is gonna change that. There are always more than 1 reason to be in Hong Kong and the reason this time round; family holiday.

The little one looking very satisfied with the hotel breakfast provided over at Ozo Wesley Hong Kong.

Located on Hong Kong Island and near Admiralty metro station, OZO makes it really easy for us to travel around Hong Kong. It's just a few MTR and Tramways stations away from shopping heaven like Times Square.

If you are a big fan of Instagram and taking OOTD like myself, there are plenty of nook and cranny that you can take a good OOTD!

At OZO, everything they do is designed to offer a great sleep experience for smart, savvy travellers on the go. It’s all about quality, not quantity. That’s why they invest in quality sleep amenities so we can get a great night’s rest. From their signature beds, noise-free rooms to blackout curtains.

The little one enjoying the bed. He just KO at the end of each day without much hassle, which is usually a worry for many parents when traveling. "What if my child cannot get use to the hotel's bed?"

And just in case you don't have time to travel around and look for local food, Ozo's breakfast got you covered! After all, breakfast is the most important meal of the day right! We have to sleep and eat well before we explore Hong Kong.

We really had a good time at Ozo Wesley Hong Kong. On top of all that I've mentioned so far, I really appreciate the good service provided by the team over at Ozo Wesley Hong Kong. I would definitely introduce this hotel if you are looking for a hotel to stay over at Hong Kong.

I would be sharing more about our trip at Disney with lil Seth, so stay tuned!

Visiting Hong Kong - Hotel Icon

Smithankyou     6/28/2017 03:32:00 PM     hong kong, hotel, hotel icon, travel     No comments

Visiting Hong Kong always gives me a feeling of home. Maybe it's because of all those Hong Kong dramas I grew up watching. It might also be because of the language. I grew up in a family speaking nothing but Cantonese. So stepping back into Hong Kong always gives me this sense of belonging. Everyone is like family. More so at Hotel Icon when everyone is so friendly.

Hotel Icon is located at Science Museum Road, Tsim Sha Tsui East in Hong Kong. The view from the room is amazing as you can see from the very first picture. You can actually see the entire city across the sea.

The hotel rooms are spacious, stylish, superbly equipped, and elegantly designed. It's really ideal for people who are addicted to Instagram like me.

Located within Hotel Icon is "Above and Beyond" which is one of the city's most celebrated Cantonese restaurants. It's also the club lounge for breakfast and evening cocktails if you have signed up for the club facilities which to me is a must-have!

And how's the view at Above and Beyond? Just take a look at how happy girlboss is having her breakfast there. That's your answer I guess LOL.

The biggest bonus for me besides the fact that they are located right beside Hung Hom MTR is that there are actually a few basketball courts located right behind it! Too bad the information came to me too late and my ankle wasn't really in a playing condition when I was there anyway.

How was my stay there? I can sum it up with 3 words. I do not want to leave.

What do you mean that's not 3 words? I donotwant toleave. 3 words right? Right?
