The Cold Storage kids run has always been something in the family since 2011 when my little niece Natacia took part in her first. Not only did she took part in the run but the family also took part in the video contest where we actually made a video and came in first with it! (So I am actually an award-winning director no?)
6 years down the road and a lot has changed. My brother left us, I have my own kid, and little Natacia is already 11. The event has shifted various venues as well and this year it was held at Sentosa. Because of the venue, my sister-in-law decided to give it a miss so it's just us heading to the island and participating in the Family Stroller Run since baby Seth is still too young to go solo.
Energy loading with a banana before the run. Which I do not really get it. Why is he the one eating when he is the one sitting in the stroller and we are the one running for him?
Pep talk from the coach! "Are you ready son? Later you see any pretty mum just wave okay?"
The event was actually way more well organized than I imagined. Given that it's at Sentosa, I was very worried that there were not be enough parking lots and decided to head down earlier. Kiasu Singaporean much, I know. To my surprise there were plenty of lots for everyone which means we were way too early. It's not all bad, because of how early we were, we managed to get some photos taken as well as visited some of the booths at the event area. And soon enough it was our time to head to the holding area!
One more picture in the holding area before we flag off.
Wife, "Where do we register?"
Me, "No need register le. Just go to the starting point and wait."
Wife, "Really meh?"
Me, "Ya, all running event also like that. So many people how to register again?"
Wife, "Aiya... I never join runs before right?"
Me... Judge judge judge judge judge.
And here we go!!!
Faster! Faster!
DADDY!! LOOK! CHIO BU!!! THAT ONE!!!
Huh? Why did you slow down? Comeon MUM!
"Let me take over instead!"
"You just want a picture for Instagram right?"
"Good that you know. Now take my camera. LOL"
It's a short 800m but it was really fun. Not too sure if Seth enjoyed it but we sure did!
Huh? It's over already?
Let's try to get a selfie at the finishing line! Okay. That didn't work as planned.
We did a quick interview with our new medalist.
"How do you feel about winning your first medal?"
"The bread is very nice."
Okay peeps, that's all and see you at 2018's edition!
