If you are a fan of NBA you will know that there are two greatest franchise of all time. The LA Lakers and the Boston Celtics. They each have won 16 and 17 NBA Championships respectively.
Lakers being in LA, it's very Hollywood and it's one of the biggest sports team in not just USA but also any major sports league around the world. It also has the 2nd biggest dollar in USA sports leagues following behind the New York Knicks.
One of my all time favourite NBA player - Magic Johnson. For people who follow news and not sports in the 90s, you would probably also know him as the NBA player who have aids but miraculously still alive as of today. No, the takeaway is not that it's okay to have aids.
One of the biggest highlight of visiting Staples besides watching the live match would be the fact that you can take pictures of and with some of Lakers greatest players ever. I know I will be there again someday considering the fact that I know Lakers will have Shaq as well as Kobe's statue there one day.
Am I doing this right?
If you have been following me on my blog or IG, you would know that I'm a big Lakers fan. They are currently going through a very rough time but a true fan will stay! Because that is what being a true fan is all about.
The Lakers is like a family team to me. I learnt about NBA from my elder Brother and we are all LA. Although over the years we supported other teams on and off but Lakers will always be our constant. Besides the fact of their long winning history, I love players like Magic Johnson, Shaq, Kobe, and of course, the great Phil Jackson.
Some tips for visiting Staples Centre. (I know, I was only there once and what makes me an expert right?)
1. Be there early. There will be some activities around the area and of course, you get better parking lots. I got a lot which is right beside the entrance and it's a flat fee.
2. The LA Store closes before the game. I've no idea why but they take a break in between. So if you are early, you ain't gonna do any shopping. The shops only reopen at around 1hr or 30mins before the game.
3. If you need WiFi, they do provide free WiFi, but for some reason I can't get connected. If you are desperate, there is a Starbucks across the road.
It's my dream come true. Being in LA, being at Staples, watching a Lakers game, watching a season opening game and beating the Golden State Warriors. It's the best day of my life. Seriously. Although it's a shame I couldn't be there with my brother. :(
LET'S GO LAKERS LET'S GO!
