Us when I was back in school. 2003 or 04 maybe? |
To make this guilty pleasure even more guilty, I tuned in to mediacorp programs once in awhile.
Sorry if I am sounding a lot less cool. I will totally understand if you have decided to unfollow me on Twitter or Instagram but do hear me out 1st. I love my America dramas, sitcoms and movies but those shows just takes up too much time and I really need to focus on every detail of the show - for example game of thrones.
See! This is the amount of details you have to notice. Even the smallest detail of a ring tells you something. If you missed these details and you are a big GOT fan, check out - these guys on youtube known as "New Rockstars"
On the other hand, Mediacorp shows are SOOOOO predictable and SLOWWWWW. You can simply do work, watch tv and in fact listen to radio all at the same time and not miss a single thing about the show! And I really have this habit of turning the tv on as white noise at home even if I'm not watching it.
So recently they aired this show - "If only I could"
As the mandarin name suggests it's pretty much about time travel, butterfly effect, regrets, etc etc kinda melodrama. Like I mentioned earlier, their shows are so predictable sometimes all you need is a freaking title to figure out what the show is all about.
So we had this dinner conversation the other day with my friends - Max and Faith, friends from the last last decade/buddies/neighbours/ex-schoolmates/mahjong kaki/dinner kaki (aiya, basically people we spent a good deal of hours with) about this show and what would you change if you could go back 10 years in time?

Faith and Max from more than 10 yrs ago as well. INTERNET NEVER DIES! |
Max and Faith talked about what if they never became a couple. What are all the possible ripple effects.
My very smart wife followed up the conversation saying that if she weren't with me, she might probably be a different person, better in this, could have done that, (blah blah blah). (Sounded like a shit load of things that has nothing to do with me but me having to take the blame.)
And I said calmly, "You know hor, divorce in Singapore is really not THAT hard. 'arbo' we get a divorce and you go complete all your to-dos lor."
My son said, "Har? like that what is going to happen to meeee??"
Okay fine, he did not say that. My wife just laugh it off and we went back to dinner. (Told you she very smart already lor.)
So what would you do if you can turn back time for only 10 years?
