Reading is really something I am not good at. Many read as a hobby or to kill time but I find it a major chore. Like the only reason I read is because I had to (So I can have interesting quotes for IG). It is not that I do not like good story telling or beautiful words stringed together but I'm just too impatient and my comprehension is really quite poor when it comes to written words. Sometimes I even have to read the same sentence a few times just to get it. #BrainRot. So in my effort to improve things - I got a Kindle! (Hoping the cool factor will help me read more)
As for Tinder, I think it needs very little introduction. Basically a dating app. I've never tried this myself although I did explore OKC and Paktor a little back then out of curiosity. I mean it makes meeting people and starting random conversation very easy, but finding love wise, I am not too sure about that. So basically it's also an app for you to erm, get laid. (I think lah.)
Kindle vs Tinder
I know this is no apple to apple comparison but I am going to tell you why Kindle can help you get
1. Girls like Smart Guys
So what if you have a nice profile picture on your tinder account if you have nothing smart to say there after? Of course Tinder is a lot about having a nice looking picture before a girl decides if she wants to "swipe right" on you but there's no way you can hold a conversation if you are damn dumb right?
2. Good Spelling and Grammar is a turn on
This is something I am still working on as well? Just take a look around Singapore's blogger and you will know what I mean. Good grammar or the lack of it can really make a big difference isn't it? I know a lot of people will tell me it doesn't matter as long as I have good content but this is something I can't stand and really trying my best to improve as well! It really marks the difference between a good post and a lousy one. Yes, reading is supposed to help that way... I think/hope.
3. Every girl loves a good romantic quote from books
“There was never going to be an “us” because you wanted to be missed more than you wanted to be loved.”
I don't read a lot of lovey dovey stuff so google helped me a lot but I think it will be more impressive if one can remember such nice quotes and use it in conversation right? Like it just make my panties wet heart stop a beat. I don't know who is this person to be honest but I found this link and I thought it's pretty interesting read. Beau Taplin There are a lot more good read out there that can help you express your love for sure. (okay lah, rom com, SATC etc etc gives you very good quotes too but i think most guys rather read than watch Rom Com right?)
4. It's more subtle
BUT. There is always a BUT. This is one of the main reason I never liked or supported dating sites. Call me a hopeless romantic but I think it is very hard to find love when the other party knows that you are here looking for love. You find love at the least expected places with someone you never expect and that makes it beautiful. Going into a dating site just shouts too much that you are looking for love(sex) and too often ladies are too guarded, evaluating the guys and every small thing might be a red flag. Or worst, simply because she knows you are into her and she make use of it as a leverage. It loses the whole ambiguity for falling in love isn't it? Of course, it is "easier" because everyone on the platform is looking for something, thus eliminating those who are not.
5. Guys who read on public transport are hot
It's a thing. Read this Nuff said.
So guys, spend more time reading and less time swiping that silly app of yours. It doesn't help you in finding love. (I think)
And so you will then ask me right, so what if you read a lot of books, become very smart, with a lot of good quotes but no one to tell to right? Here's your solution:
Guys, you are welcome.
