So what is a hipster?
A short explanation from Urban Dictionary dot com:
Hipsters are a subculture of men and women typically in their 20's and 30's that value independent thinking, counter-culture, progressive politics, an appreciation of art and indie-rock, creativity, intelligence, and witty banter.
So basically they are people who likes to walk in the opposite direction. Am I a hipster? Probably but not as hipster as my sidekick.
BTW, photo NOT taken in the 90s. It's taken recently by the awesome Superduperyummy. |
From their Facebook page:
The name kapok derives from the majestic emergent trees of the same name. The trees grow tall in their ecosystem and provide a home for plants and animals. kapok also provides a unique roof under which people in the community can meet and find inspiring quality goods.
But dear Singaporean friends, I'm sure it sounded very much like "steal" - Kapok in Malay right? *giggle* Cause that's what I thought too! :p
So what can you expect at the Pop-up store?
Very hipsterish right? So why do I like Kapok's product so much? Because you will never see any big brand logo smack on their items. It's always very subtle and nice! And their price range are pretty reasonable too!
So what are some of the brands? Sorry I'm not a very brand conscious person. To me what makes a difference is the design and never the brand itself. And if you wish to find out more, check out there site or even better, go to the pop up and check it out!
So where did I spill my blood?
To be honest, I've never ever spend money on Wallet. I remember my wallets always came from friends during birthdays and I will just use them until they are super old torn and smelly. So for me to fall in love with a wallet, I must say it's really something.
What is so cool about this wallet? It's one of those wallet with a very innovative design that allows me to put a lot of things and yet not bulky, not heavy, good material and like i mentioned, no big brand logo on it.
Wallet from Carré Royal
The origins of the Carré Royal brand go back to the 1950s with the founding of their first workshop. Their creations are made for lovers of fine goods who appreciate the unique quality of leather and the elegant sobriety of their different lines. The leather used develops a particularly fine patina over time and comes from the very best European tanneries, mainly French tanneries.
