Crazy crazy week for me and thank god for TheTinyBikeGirl saving my day and attending events on behalf of me. I am loving this partnership and as we discussed I am going to do a little tab for her where we can consolidate her posts there. I know it's not SEO wise but who cares. We write for fun not to do sales. So those of you judging us please go away~~ :x
Anyway I haven't really been a mega Samsung follower and in fact the last Samsung item I remember lurking in the house was like a pager?
Anyway let's take a look at her little adventure this time.
Be Creative with Samsung
By : TheTinyBikeGirl
Hi, it's me again. This time, I'm dressed like Madeline to attend Be Creative! the gala launch event where Samsung will be showing off their latest products.
Outfit of the day: ASOS dress (a.k.a Madeline dress), Charles and Keith Shoulder bag and Shoes from Cotton On |
The really tall models! |
I ran into Joyce and Miss Rusty while wandering around waiting for the event to start. It's been such a long time since I've done this so I'm a bit out of touch, it was great to see at least a familiar face there. We hung around, took a photo of the sour cherry chocolate mousse that was being passed around and then managed to spot the two celebrity ambassadors - Olivia Ong and Desmond Tan, showing off their gadgets to a crowd of photographers. Nice.

Presenting the celebrity ambassador for the Galaxy Note II |
The Samsung Galaxy Note II features a 5.5" HD SUPER AMOLED screen. Which basically means, everything is now super clear and that's awesome news especially for those of us who enjoy smartphone photography and reading books on our phones. It also has a whole bunch of features which makes the phone smarter and more in sync with our crazy, fast paced lifestyles. The Air View allows users to preview content from emails, image galleries, S Planner or videos just by hovering the S Pen over it. This way, you don't have to open the content and then hit the 'back' button to go back to whatever you were doing. Android OS is really awesome in that it allows you to run many apps at one go but sometimes, a person just wants to see stuff fast. The Pop Up Note allows a user to open an S Note as a pop-up window so you no longer have to scrabble for paper to take notes during a phone call. I hope it lets you do the same in Whatsapp chats and emails as well. Because that'd be really dang awesome. Some fun creative tools are the Easy Clip function, which lets you clip out bits of photos and pictures you find and turn them into collages as well as the Idea Sketch that allows users to add illustrations by handwriting keywords on the S Note.
Samsung has also worked with the local developer community to come up with new apps that are meant to make the experience with the S Pen even awesome-r. Being the typical book nerd, the app I saw which got me super excited is the 'Write Your Own Adventure' app which allows children to create their own electronic story book by taking photos, writing a story and even adding in recorded narration and sound effects to them. I love this app because it taps into my childhood dream of writing my own book. But for adults who will be using the phone, it's really great for educators and parents with young children who want to create social stories on the fly for use in everyday life or in school.

The event also introduced the celebrity ambassadors for each product. Olivia Ong, a favorite singer of mine from way back when is the celebrity ambassador for the Galaxy Note II. She announced that she will be participating in 'The Wonderland" project where she will compose an original song "Wonderland" and use her Galaxy Note II to capture the creative process behind the writing of the song and allow her fans to join her in the whole thing by interacting with her and sharing ideas with her for the music video of "Wonderland". We also got treated to a performance by her and I have to say, her voice in person is even better than all the recordings I've heard.

Desmond Tan, who will be taking the lead role in his latest drama "96 Cafe" is the ambassador for the Galaxy Camera. He has been taking pictures on his Galaxy Camera and sharing them with his fans on Instagram. So if you're a fan, you can follow him on @thedesmondtan. I'm sorry to say that prior to this event, I've never heard of him so when Joyce and Rusty had me take a photo with him, the only thing I could say to him was "I like your hair". Which is true anyway, his hair was awesomely cool.
It was a pretty fun night getting to meet and hang out with some other awesome bloggers. And after protesting to Calvin that I would only consider changing to a new phone if I was absolutely forced to, my phone's camera has decided to die out on me. So maybe when the Galaxy Note II becomes available on the 20th of October, it may be my next target...
The Galaxy Note II LTE will be available in Singapore from 20th October 2012 and the Galaxy Camera will be available from November 2012 onwards.
Tsk, she gets to meet Olivia Ong and I don't! BOOOO!!!
